Every year around their birthdays I take a picture of my daughters in my sorority pledge shirt to watch them grow. It is so much fun watching them change and grow from year to year. You can do this with any shirt you have. Even if your kids aren’t babies any more why not start this new tradition?
These collages are easy to do, too, using a FREE website called PicMonkey. I love that you don’t have to download or install anything! There are premium (Royale) features you can pay for such as more design options, font options, etc. but they are totally optional and a low monthly fee if you do choose to use these features. PicMonkey has been great for making my girls’ school projects even better, too. They love making collages, editing pictures, adding clip art, and so much more!
Try it for yourself!

In the collage above I put my older daughter’s age but on my younger daughter’s collage below I put the years instead. I keep all the pictures in one folder on my computer and add to it each year so I can create new collages every year.

Photo Backdrop You Can Easily Make At Home

My father recently watched one of my video reviews and said,”You can see things in your house. You should have a backdrop.” Part of what I like about the video reviews my girls do is that they are done in our home and are personal. I wasn’t going to even try to make a backdrop. Then I realized I haven’t had pictures taken of my girls in a while and I wanted to make some photo gifts. I decided to give the backdrop thing a try. Then the idea came to me. I had bought an adjustable clothing rack a few months ago. We keep it in the garage so when we take clothes out of the dryer we can hang them up right away. I grabbed the rack and put it inside the house. I like this particular rack because it adjusts in height and width, too. Next I needed something to use as the backdrop.

A quick trip to Walmart provided the solution. I bought several plush and fleece blankets in different colors and styles. They were all on sale $5 or less, so that made me even happier.

At Dollar Tree I bought plastic clothes pins that have a very wide opening and fit around the top bar of the rack. I hung one blanket over the rack and secured it with the clothes pins on top. I then pushed the clothes pins down so you couldn’t see them from the top.
I also bought a floor lamp at Walmart for extra light when we are shooting the videos.

Here are the results. Note, these photos are raw, unedited photos. I still plan on adjusting the brightness, etc. And I need to work with lighting a little bit. But overall, it was easy and they came out great. The hard part now is picking a favorite to use for photo gifts.

My girls love any type of craft project so they were so excited when we received products from Artsi‘s 3 product lines- Glitter Petz, Plusheez, and Stickeez. All three lines feature colorful, fun craft projects that children can easily complete themselves. Both of my girls were so proud and excited to show me their finished projects, especially because they didn’t need my help. They were so focused while they were crafting that you could have heard a pin drop in the room. That RARELY happens in our house.

We received 2 different Glitter Petz so my girls each chose one to decorate. There are several different Glitter Petz animals to choose from. We chose Penny the Puppy and Sadie the Kitten. Each comes with a figurine, 100 colorful gems in various shapes and colors, 2 sets of eyes, 1 bookbag clip, and string to tie it. It was easy for my girls to decorate their Glitter Petz with the peel and stick gems and they especially liked that they were able to choose which pair of eyes to stick on. When they finished their Glitter Petz they tied them to the included bookbag clips and attached them to their backpacks to show them off at school. There were extra gems left over that they are saving for future projects.

We received Bella from the Plusheez line. Bella is an adorable plush pal who is always a hoot. Plusheez each come with a special stylus to pop in the included plush shapes to create awesome projects from plush animals to a fun pillow. No sewing required! Plusheez have tiny X shaped slits all over them. Simply place a plush shape on top of the color coded slits and use the stylus to pop it in. Easy peasy and the results are beautiful!

We received a beautiful jewelry box to design from the Stickeez line. It came with TONS of gems in various colors, shapes, and sizes that children easily apply by following the included color chart like a paint by number only no messy paint, just sticking peel and stick gems so NO MESS! Bling your bedroom! The jewelry box isn’t just beautiful but it is a very functional piece complete with 4 drawers, a mirror and a hanging rack. There are also Stickeez clutch purses, headbands, bracelets, and more!

Do you have an old T-shirt that your child just can’t seem to part with? Why not make it into a tote bag with this easy craft.

First cut off the sleeves and collar. Use sharp scissors to get an even line. Folding the shirt in half vertically and cut both sleeves at the same time for more identical cuts.
