sanaa review
Sanaa, which means “Work of Art” in Swahili, is a beautiful restaurant located in Animal Kingdom Lodge’s Kidani Village.  This hidden gem serves a mix of African and Indian cuisine made with authentic cooking methods and flavors at a moderate price.  I had the opportunity to dine there for lunch a few weeks ago as part of the Monkey Kingdom Event with 24 other bloggers.  We had the opportunity to not only experience the food but also Dine with an Animal Specialist which is something anyone can do.  I suggest going for lunch and try to get a table by the window so you can see all the amazing views as you look outside at all of the animals such as zebras and giraffes.  You won’t be able to see the animals as much if you go at night since it will be dark but they do have night vision goggles outside in the viewing area that you can use after your meal if you do go for dinner. 20150415_121200 (1024x576)We started our meal with a bread flight that had various types of Indian-style breads such as Naan and Kucha.  It was served with various accompaniments such as chutney, hummus, etc.  Some where sweet, some were spicy, all were incredibly delicious.  There was something for everyone with this bread appetizer.

Indian-style Bread Service

Choice of Three Breads – Traditional Naan, Garlic-Ginger Naan, Spiced Naan, Onion Kucha, or Paneer Paratha. Choice of Three Accompaniments – Red Chile Sambal, Cucumber Raita, Coriander Chutney, Mango Chutney, Coconut Chutney, Garlic Pickle, Spicy Jalapeño-Lime Pickle, Roasted Red Bell Pepper Hummus, or Tamarind Chutney

Our next course was a salad sampler course that had several salads including chickpeas with cucumber and tomato and my favorite, a watermelon cucumber salad.  All of the salads were delicious and tasted incredibly fresh.

Salad Sampler

Choice of Three Salads: Chickpeas with Cucumber and Tomato; Watermelon, Cucumber and Fennel; Kachumbari; Mango; or Bhel Puri

20150415_124408 (1024x576)   For our main course we were served Basmati rice with 2 different dishes, Goan Seafood Curry and Butter Chicken.  The Goan Seafood Curry was delicious but the Butter Chicken was my FAVORITE!  It was so flavorful and had such a smooth, delicate sauce.  I am craving it just thinking about it.  If you only get one thing at Sanaa make sure it is the Butter Chicken.

Choice of Two served with Basmati Rice or Five-Grain Pilaf – Butter Chicken, Goan Seafood Curry, Chicken Vindaloo, Spicy Durban Shrimp, or Beef Short Ribs

All 3 desserts in the dessert trio were as delicious as they looked.  They were presented together on a plate with a fancy layer of chocolate to tie the whole dessert together.  Each one was equally as rich and decadent as the next.  The Tanzanian Chocolate Mousse was sweet, rich, and perfect for any chocolate lover.  The Banana Cheesecake was smooth and had just the right amount of sweetness.  And the Kulfi was sweet and delicious.  It is similar to an ice cream and the perfect way to end our meal.

Dessert Trio

Tanzanian Chocolate Mousse, Banana Cheesecake, and Seasonal Kulfi

Here’s a Sanaa menu  sample.  What I love about Sanaa is that I stepped out of my comfort zone and ate things I’ve never had before but loved it all.  The chefs at Sanaa are very accommodating.  If you have a special dietary restriction they work with you to make a meal that you’ll love.  In our group we had several bloggers with allergies and a few vegetarians and the chef came out personally to go over the menu with them, offer them alternative choices, and make sure they had food they would love.  Sanaa is one of my new favorite places to go when I go to Walt Disney World and I can’t wait to take my family there the next time we’re in town. Don’t forget to take your family to see Monkey Kingdom!!! P1240408 Disclosure- I was invited on an all expense paid trip to Orlando for the Monkey Kingdom Event.  All opinions are 100% my own.

Disclosure- I received a gift card to purchase the meals discussed below to facilitate my review.  I received no other compensation and all opinions are 100% my own.
longhorn $12.99 steak dinner

If you are craving steak, Longhorn Steakhouse has a great deal for you.  From now until October 20th you can get a 3 course steak dinner for only $12.99.  Each meal comes with unlimited warm honey wheat bread to start.  We then got to choose from a hand-chopped mixed green salad with our choice of dressing or a Caesar salad.  Hubby and I both chose mixed green salads.  They were very fresh, crispy, and cold and we really enjoyed them.
pretzel sticks
My daughters decided that they wanted to share an appetizer (not included with the steak 3 course meal) so we ordered the soft pretzel sticks with honey mustard and beer cheese dipping sauces.  My hubby and I both really liked the two sauces but my girls just liked the pretzels.  The beer cheese was too strong for them and they don’t like honey mustard.  If we order them again I will probably ask for ranch or another dipping sauce for my girls.
longhorn2
For our main course this special came with a 6 oz. Renegade Sirloin.  You can upgrade to an 8 oz.  Renegade Sirloin for an additional $3.00 or the 7 oz. Flo’s Filet for an additional $7.00.  I choose the 6 oz. Renegade Sirloin but added sauteed onions and mushrooms for a small charge.  My husband choose the 8 oz. Renegade Sirloin and ended up with leftovers.  He also chose to have his steak crusted with bleu cheese for a small charge.  We both ordered our steaks medium and they were cooked perfectly.  They were soft, tender, and delicious.  I am picky when it comes to steak and I hate having to cut away fat.  There was no fat on either of our steaks.  I had planned on taking some home for leftovers but it was just too good that I ended up finishing all of my steak.  My husband really enjoyed his bleu cheese crusted steak and since he ordered the large portion he ended up with leftovers for lunch tomorrow.
longhorn3
Once we picked our steaks, we got to choose a side.  The 7 side choices were a loaded baked potato, a sweet potato with cinnamon sugar and butter, a fresh vegetable medley, fresh green beans, seasoned french fries, seasoned rice pilaf, or mashed potatoes.  For an additional $1.59 we could choose a signature side- brussel sprouts au gratin (roasted brussel sprouts and bacon in a four cheese cream sauce topped with provolone, and Parmesan breadcrumbs), fresh steamed asparagus (drizzled with lemon sauce), or steakhouse mac and cheese (corkscrew pasta, four cheeses, and bacon).  I chose the steakhouse mac and cheese and hubby had a loaded baked potato.  He said the baked potato was soft and delicious.  I LOVED the steakhouse mac and cheese.  It was creamy and cheese with a subtle garlic flavor and of course bacon.  It is mac and cheese for grown ups.
dessert
For dessert we had a choice of Cinnamon Sugar Dough Bites or a Peanut Butter Cup Sundae.  Since we both ordered the steak dinner we decided to order one of each dessert and we all shared.  The Cinnamon Sugar Dough Bites were covered in cinnamon sugar and then drizzled in syrup (I think it was raspberry).  They were warm and delicious and the syrup really made them extra sweet and yummy.  The Peanut Butter Cup Sundae was equally delicious.  It had vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, crumbled peanut butter cups, and whipped cream.  As full as we were from our meal, we all enjoyed both desserts.longhorn steakhouse children's menu
Let’s not forget the kids!  There are 8 meal choices on the children’s menu.  My girls each picked a meal but then also wanted mac and cheese.  Luckily instead of french fries or broccoli, they were both able to add mac and cheese as their side for a small fee.  That made everyone happy.  One of my girls ordered a cheeseburger and the other ordered chicken tenders.  Both looked really good and my girls enjoyed their dinners.  I really like how Longhorn Steakhouse gives adults cloth napkins with their silverware inside but children receive a fork and a package of crayons wrapped inside a paper napkin which is more kid friendly for my children who tend to get messy.  They also gave my girls cups with lids so they wouldn’t spill their drinks.  It was as if Longhorn Steakhouse has dined with us before and knows what messes my girls are capable of.  Seriously though, the staff was friendly, the food was great, and we all enjoyed our meals.  The $12.99 3-course steak dinner is a great value so head over to Longhorn Steakhouse before October 20th!
Connect with Longhorn Steakhouse on Facebook and check out the rest of their menu on the Longhorn Steakhouse website.

Disclaimer- I attended a Dunkin Donuts tasting event and received a promotional gift for attending but all opinions are 100% my own.Dunkin PumpkinIt’s Fall which means PUMPKIN TIME at Dunkin’ Donuts.  I recently attended an event at a local Dunkin’ Donuts where we were able to sample this season’s pumpkin deliciousness.  Dunkin’ Donuts has Pumpkin Donuts and Pumpkin Munchkins which both have a light pumpkin taste.  They also have pumpkin bagels which I hope to try soon.  Now on to my favorite pumpkin food offerings.  The pumpkin muffin has a delicious pumpkin flavor but the best part is the white icing and streusel crumb topping.  Great for a snack or a breakfast treat.  And my favorite pumpkin food at Dunkin’ Donuts is their pumpkin pie donut that has a crumb and icing topping and is filled with a wonderful pumpkin pie filling.  YUMMY!
Of course you’ll need something to wash these yummy things down and of course Dunkin’ Donuts has some pumpkin drinks, too.  If you are looking to cool off with an iced drink check out the Pumpkin Coolata that has just right amount of pumpkin flavor without being too strong.  If you love the taste of pumpkin but want something that has more of a coffee taste then try the Pumpkin White Chocolate Latte either regular or iced.  It is absolutely delicious and really hits the spot this Fall season.  Don’t forget to top it with whipped cream!  Want some pumpkin goodness at home, too?  Bring some some pumpkin flavored ground coffee or K-cups.
Dunkin Sandwiches
Hungry but not in the mood for pumpkin?  Dunkin’ Donuts doesn’t just have sweets on the menu.  Dunkin’ Donuts has a whole line of sandwiches for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or anytime.  My favorite is the new Angus Steak Big N’ Toasted which has two eggs, Angus steak, and cheese on 2 slices of Texas toast .  Of course any sandwich can be made on any type of bread from English muffins, pretzel rolls, croissants, bagels, tortilla, etc.  If you are in the Palm Beach market then you are in luck.  They are testing out a new Corned Beef Hash Muffin that features corned beef, egg, and cheese on an English muffin.  If you like corned beef, you’ll love this sandwich.  Looking for a tasty lunch?  Check out their Pretzel Roll Roast Beef Sandwich that includes roast beef, cheese, and Dijon mustard on a soft pretzel roll.
