Going On Vacation? Don’t Forget These Beauty Products

I loved to travel before I had kids, and as a mom, I still love to travel. I’m the kind of person who gets excited about booking my next vacation a few days after returning from my last, if I could, I would always be on the road.

As someone who has taken many family vacations, I have finally got to grips with the organization and precision that is needed to execute a successful family trip. However, there is one area of vacation planning that took me a lot longer to get my head around, and that’s my beauty products.

It might sound strange, but until a couple of years ago, I always use to struggle knowing what to pack, in terms of makeup and beauty bits. However, I am proud to say that I have now cracked it, so I thought I would share my knowledge with you, in case anyone else is the same boat.

Here’s my guide to all the makeup and beauty essentials you need to pack for your next vacation:

Beauty products:

Okay, so let’s start with beauty products. I use to really struggle knowing what to pack for my trip away and couldn’t get my head around how much of each product would be enough.

Shampoo and condition are, of course, a must. Depending on how long you are going away for and how often you wash your hair, a full-size bottle of each should be perfect.

While you could take your normal shampoo along, it might be more beneficial for you hair to take shampoo and conditioner formulated for holiday hair. Seawater, sand, sun, etc., all take their toll on your hair.

Shower gel is another essential. Ideally, you want to choose a shower gel that is mild and gentle and won’t irritate your skin should you fall fail to sunburn or heat rash. I always find that natural products are best for this.

To keep your skin soft and well hydrated, moisturiser is also crucial. For your body, why not invest in a bottle of Nivea’s in-shower moisturizer? It makes moisturizing much easier and avoids the issue of getting moisturizer everywhere.

If you moisturize your face every morning, as well as every evening, it might be worth investing in a moisturizer with SPF protection. That way you can moisturize and then go out in the sun without worrying.

To ensure that your skin stays healthy while you are away, facial scrub is another essential product. Ideally, you want to choose an exfoliator that is chemical-free and extra moisturizing, instead of an exfoliator that dries out your skin.

Makeup products:

The first thing to know about choosing makeup products for vacation is that is you intend on wearing them during the day; it is crucial that you pack products with an SPF factor.

Don’t pack foundation, in the warm weather foundation is a nightmare. Instead, opt for a BB cream or tinted moisturizer – BB cream is probably your best bet as it’s like foundation, concealer and primer all rolled into one.

The heat from the sun means that makeup won’t stay in place for very long. To help keep your makeup in place for longer; a translucent powder is essential. Ideally, you want a powder that is translucent but has a slight tint to it, like this Ben Nye banana powder.

Make sure that any eye makeup you pack, including eyeliner, eye shadow and 3d fiber lash mascara are all waterproof. Otherwise, the warm weather could leave you resembling a panda – not exactly, the look you want.

Coping With Hair Loss: A Guide For Women

As women, our hair is incredibly important to us. For women from across the globe – from the US to Vietnam, our hair is a symbol of our beauty, confidence, and personal style. But, sadly, for a growing number of women – up to a massive 30 million in the US – hair loss is a problem.

As a woman, I know just how important my hair is to me and how much I would hate to be without it. For women affected by hair loss, this can cause all sorts of emotional problems, including a drop in self-esteem and depression.

Hair loss, whether the cause is from medication, illness or stress, can be devastating. Especially for us women.

If you are suffering from hair loss, you may feel that you are struggling to cope – don’t worry, that’s where I come in. I have put together a few tips and ideas to help you get through your hair loss as easily as possible.

To help you cope with hair loss in a positive way, I have put together a simple guide to dealing with hair loss.

Don’t let your lack of hair define you

Many women with hair loss let their lack of hair define them. Don’t let your hair become the most important thing about you – hair or no hair, you are still the same person.

While you may feel that you hair represented a big part of who you are, remember that the biggest part of you is your personality. Just because you don’t have hair anymore, it doesn’t mean that you should change how you feel about yourself.

Be creative with your style

For many of us, our hair is a major factor in terms of our personal style. If you are suffering from hair loss and feel lost in terms of your sense of style, focus on the other ways you can make yourself feel stylish.

One of the best ways to make yourself feel stylish is by focusing on your clothing and makeup. You may not have your hair, but you still have your face and body to play with. You may not believe it, but it’s amazing how much better you will feel in a nice outfit with a full face of makeup on.

Invest in a wig

You might have heard that wigs are itchy and uncomfortable, but that isn’t necessarily true. Sure enough, wigs from the past weren’t that comfortable to wear, but today wigs are much more comfortable, not to mention more realistic.

Before you decide you don’t want to wear a wig, at least go and try some on. You might not think wearing a wig is for you, but go to a specialist wig shop, and you might be surprised. Just make sure to choose a wig made of human hair – horsehair wigs don’t look anywhere near as realistic as human hair ones do.

Research your options

If your hair loss is not permanent and is caused by a medication, you are taking or by stress, then you should be just fine with a wig. But, if your hair loss is a permanent thing, then you may want to research your options and see what treatments are available to try.

Start off by visiting your doctor and asking if there are any treatment options they would suggest for you. Most doctors recommend restorative hair treatment, however, this isn’t suitable for everyone as it can be rather expensive. To find out the hair transplant cost for you, go online and compare the prices of different clinics.

If the cost of getting a hair transplant in the US is too high, don’t despair, consider going abroad instead. Like many cosmetic treatments, hair transplants are much less expensive when done abroad. Just make sure to pick a fully certified, reputable clinic for your procedure.

Moms: How To Get Your Bodies Back Post-Pregnancy

Giving birth is such an incredible experience, and your body has done such a fantastic job. But going through all the physical changes associated with pregnancy and giving birth can leave some women feeling that they have lost their former figure. Fortunately, there are things you can try that many women have found effective at restoring their confidence in the way they look.

  • Post-pregnancy surgical fixes

Many Mom’s find that the most effective way to get their body back after giving birth is through cosmetic surgery. Certain clinics have a range of mommy makeover treatments including breast lifts and tummy tucks. If you are interested in these types of procedures, have a look on the web for more information and schedule a consultation with a cosmetic surgeon. It’s important to note that not everyone will be a candidate for these procedures. For example, they will be unsuitable for you if are planning on getting pregnant again.

  • Exercise regime

We all know that exercise is one of the most helpful ways to lose weight and tone up. If you are a new Mommy, do make sure you have the okay from your doctor before you start exercising. As well as cardio exercise, like jogging or dancing, do some resistance training to restore your strength and tone your muscles. Try to get some fresh air while you exercise as this will boost your energy levels and mood even more. Focus on exercises that target the areas of your body that you are most uncomfortable with.

  • Team up with other Moms

Other Moms among your family and friends will in all probability also be on a mission to get their pre-pregnancy bodies back. They will understand what you are going and vice versa, so it is a good idea to team up and support and motivate each other, whether it’s with eating well, working out or both. Alternatively, you could join a fitness or diet group designed for Moms.

  • Use skin tightening lotions

There are many moisturisers on the market that are formulated to tighten loose skin. Look for products that contain collagen, vitamins A, E, C and K. For the best result apply the lotion to your body twice a day and massage the skin in order to promote circulation.

  • Eat well

Try your best to avoid any sugary, fatty and processed foods when you are trying to achieve your pre-baby body. You certainly don’t need to starve yourself or live on cabbage soup for weeks on end. Just ensure you eat a delicious and nutritious diet full of natural ingredients. There is so much advice available online on how to eat right when trying to lose weight and tighten skin.

  • Keep up your fluids

Water is your saviour when you are working on your figure. Water helps you to burn calories in a more effective way, and it hydrates your skin leaving it healthy and tight.

It can be really easy to focus on the parts of your body that are bothering you after giving birth. But remember you have done a wonderful thing, and you should be proud of yourself physically and mentally. With a good dose of determination, you will get your body back!

4 Unique Ways To Raise Funds For A Good Cause

There is nothing wrong with the classic methods of raising funds for a good cause. However, once and a while it can be successful if you freshen things up and grab your potential donors’ attention with a unique fundraising method. And, besides, you are doing something very worthwhile, so you deserve to have fun while you are doing it!

Whether you are raising funds for an individual, a charity, the community or your child’s school, here are some unique ways to attract attention and donations.

1. Create a display

A wonderful way to say thank you to your donors so far is with a display. But not only will this commemorate their contribution but it will also encourage others to donate. If you are raising money for your school or local community, you may be able to create your display in a public area with good footfall, so it’s worth inquiring. You may wish to create the display yourself or visit Fundraisingbrick.com, for example, for help with your fundraising exhibit.

2. Get your furry friends involved

Nothing gets people on side quite like an adorable pooch (or ten!). So how about a dog show or big dog walk with all the canines in the community? This could be an excellent way to get people interested in the cause you support and to raise funds. You might wish to arrange for a sponsored dog walk around the perimeter of your neighborhood. Or perhaps you could organize a dog event in your local park. Friends, family, neighbors, colleagues and others could bring their dogs along for a day of fun and for competitions like the cutest pup and the best-dressed dog.

3. Tap into a subject that’s trending

Another way to attract attention to your cause is by arranging an event based on something that is popular at the time. Social media is one of the best ways to discover what is getting people talking at the moment. This could be anything from a type of clothing, like a onesie, to a TV show, like Game of Thrones, to a behavior, like taking selfies. Don’t pick anything that is controversial, however, as this is likely to have the opposite effect.

4. A cook-off!

More people are taking an interest in eating well. There is an abundance of cooking shows on the TV that have also made many people more adventurous in the kitchen. Why not ask people to enter into a healthy eating cooking competition. You may wish to ask a local chef from a popular restaurant to be the judge. Make it extra funny, exciting and challenging by arranging for children to pick the ingredients that the competitors must cook with. I can’t imagine the bizarre combination of items that they will come up with!

4986290249_f7fb7c2742_zThank you for reading my post on unusual ways to raise funds for a good cause. I hope that you find some useful ideas in here that you can use to gain interest and excitement for your cause and, of course, to raise funds.
