As a parent of two young daughters there are a few attributes that I especially love to find in toys.  I love when toys allow for creativity, science, exploration, and trial and error.  The Weird & Wacky Contraption Lab fits that bill.  It is a set of 60 mix and match pieces that children use to construct all types of courses for the metal ball to go down.  They stick to the special 2 foot board that has a Velcro®-like material on it as do all the parts.  Set up is super easy.  My 9 year old set the board up herself and was able to make her own contraption within minutes.  With so many parts to use, the possibilities are endless.  It is a great one or two person toy that makes for hours of creative play with lots of trial and error.

With the  Weird & Wacky Contraption Lab my children were testing out and learning about gravity, angles, and more without even realizing they were learning.  If you want the ball to travel faster do you tilt the slide up or down?  That is just one of the scientific questions that my daughters discovered with this set.  The set is well crafted and was easy for both my 7 and 9 year old daughters to use by themselves.  I think their favorite part is the flying pig at the end of the contraption they created.  I mean who wouldn’t love a flying pig?

Standing over two feet tall, the Weird & Wacky Contraption Lab has 60 mix-and-match pieces to build an unlimited amount of contraptions.  Kids can dream up crazy courses, then build and test them using this easy-to-construct Velcro®-like system.  Instructions offer tips and tricks on how to best manipulate the kit’s components.  It guides kids through five sample contraption designs while they learn how to predict the outcome of each.

Origami Owl Custom Jewelry Review and Special Sale!

Thank you for visiting Cori's Cozy Corner! Please make sure to like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter and subscribe to our E-mails!

I fell in LOVE with Origami Owl Custom Jewelry a few months ago when I first saw one of their beautiful lockets.  The company was started in 2010 by a 14 year old girl.  YES, the founder, Bella was 14 when she started Origami Owl.  She was trying to find a way to earn money to buy a car by her 16th birthday.  Now just a few years later thousands of women across the country run their own Origami Owl businesses.  As the mom of 2 young daughters I LOVE that even a 14 year old can succeed with her own business.

So what is Origami Owl?  Origami Owl is a custom jewelry company that allows you to create your own Origami Owl Living Locket!  You can personalize it with charms that represent your life’s milestones, things you love, your passions, etc.  I love that my Origami Owl Living Locket is all about me!   My locket tells MY story.
There are so many different ways to customize your locket at every price point.  The lockets start at just $20, the chains start at $8, the plates start at $7, and the charms are $5 each.
They really make an affordable gift for someone else or yourself- THINK MOTHER’S DAY!
Choose your charms, choose your locket, pick an optional plate, choose a necklace style, and choose an optional dangle.  I like the look of being able to see through my locket so I didn’t choose a plate but I do love that the plates come with different phrases such as LOVE, DREAM, MOM, and BELIEVE.
I had so much fun picking all the components of my locket.  I choose the Large Silver Locket with Crystals and the Silver Ball Station chain to go with it.  My charms represent me so much.  I chose 2 girls with December birthstones for my 2 daughters, a laptop that has the @ symbol (hello, I’m a blogger!), an owl which is my sorority’s mascot, a chai (which is a Jewish symbol), and a wedding ring to represent my husband.

I love that the jewelry comes in these cute little Chinese take out style boxes and also include a little Asian style pouch to keep your necklace protected in.

The lockets are held closed with several VERY strong magnets so they won’t open when you are wearing it.  I have received so many compliments on mine.  I love that you can also choose different length necklaces to suit your own style but they don’t feel too heavy or bulky on your neck.

Here are some more examples-

Pecan Pie! In a cookie bar… Soo good! Take a look for our video eBooks that can be downloaded from the iBookstore: https://itunes.apple.com/us/book/puff-pastry/id620080805?ls=1 Ingredients: For the crust: 1 cup (250 mL) unsalted butter, softened ⅔ cup (150 mL) packed brown sugar 2⅔ cups (650 mL) all-purpose flour ½ tsp (2 mL) salt For the filling: ½ cup (125 mL) unsalted butter 1 cup (250 mL) packed brown sugar ⅓ cup (75 mL) honey or maple syrup, corn syrup 2 Tbsp (30 mL) 35% cream 2 cups (500 mL) chopped pecans Method: Preheat the oven to 350ºF (180ºC) Line a 9×13″cake pan with parchment paper, leaving enough for a 2-inch overhang on long sides. Cream together butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Add in the salt and flour mixing until crumbly. Press the crust into the parchment lined pan and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown. While the crust is baking, prepare the filling: combine butter, brown sugar, honey and 35% cream in a saucepan; stirring it over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 1 minute, then stir in the chopped pecans. Immediately pour the pecan filling over the still hot crust; spreading it evenly to cover. Place the pan back into the oven and bake for an additional 20 minutes. Don’t over-bake! After baking allow the bars to fully cool in the pan before lifting out and cutting.

For a nice departure from a heavy meat-and-potatoes meal, keep yourself satisfied with a wholesome Asian steak and noodle salad. With plenty of crunch, tang, and color, it’s just as easy and comforting as what you’d order from your favorite restaurant, only cheaper.
The key to this recipe is the ginger, soy, and lime marinade, which infuses the meat with umami-rich flavor. Watch our video to learn how this lettuce, rice noodle, and beef creation comes together, then print out the recipe and make it tonight.
