The wedding invitation is the first glimpse into your wedding day. You want it to be the embodiment of what your big day is all about. With this in mind, choosing the right invitation can strike fear into the hearts of many betrothed couples. With such a vast choice available, it can be a complicated process. After all, you want it to be nothing short of perfect. Your invitations are a key part of your big day. Without them, people won’t be in attendance.

Stop. Relax. Stop panicking. You can find the perfect invitation that leaves a lasting impression on all of your guests. What’s more, it can fit the tone and style of your wedding easily.

Theme

Choosing the theme of your invite, should be a reflection of what your day is all about. Are you having a vintage affair with tea and bunting? Are you going for a glamorous princess inspired theme? Whatever your theme is, your invites should be a reflection of this. Incorporate the flowers that you have chosen for your bouquet into your invitation. This is a sure fire way of ensuring that people are aware of what they should wear to your event. After all, if you are going for bohemian chic, your guests may feel out of place in a tailored suit. The theme of your invite should reflect the theme and colors of your big day.

Budget

Money matters, when it comes to organizing any aspect of the wedding day. You need to have the perfect theme in place. But, you also need to ensure that you are not blowing the budget with 3D cutouts and tissue lined invitations. Think about the amount of invites that you need. Cost up how much all of these will be overall. You also need to consider save the dates and thank you cards in a matching theme too. It may be best to go for a simpler, flat style invite if your budget does not allow for something fancier. But, invites on a budget don’t have to look dull. In fact, there are some great styles that you can choose from.

Design

There are many designs of wedding invite. Paper Themes have said that the most popular is the flat, postcard style invitation. You can opt for a folding, brochure style of invite. Pocket fold invitations are hugely popular too. Pocket fold style invites are great for couples who have a lot of information for their guests. Including menus, hotel details and so forth is made easier with this style. If you have a set menu and all your friends live in the local vicinity, opting for a classic invitation may be best. A two-fold invitation that’s tied together with a ribbon is nothing short of adorable.

Vendor

Choosing the perfect vendor can be tough. But, there are a plethora of online retailers. Seek out samples of what you like. These may be charged at a nominal fee. Get a feel for the vendor by ordering samples and checking out Google reviews.

Wow Your Partner With Romantic Chocolate Gifts

If you’re looking for gift ideas to wow your other half, it’s worth considering chocolate. This luxurious, indulgent product is the perfect symbol of romance. Also, chocolate has long been considered an aphrodisiac.

However, if you’re to impress your partner, it’s important to think outside the box. Here are some great gift ideas that should get your creative juices flowing.

Create a deluxe hamper

One option is to create a deluxe hamper containing a selection of some of your other half’s favorite foods. You can really go to town on these presents. Of course, chocolate gifts will be the star of the show and for the wow factor it’s a good idea to search for unusual chocolate products online. You’ll be able to find an array of exotic and enticing flavor combinations that are bound to put a smile on your partner’s face.

You can team these presents up with some savory delights too. For added opulence, you can select treats like smoked salmon and caviar. Of course, you’ll need something to wash all these goodies down, and a bottle of champagne makes a great addition to any hamper. However, if your partner prefers rich red wine, opt for this instead.

The important thing is to match the contents of your hamper to your other half’s tastes. This attention to detail will show lots of thought and care.

If the weather’s up to it, you could present the hamper outdoors and treat your partner to a picnic in her favorite spot.

Cook up a storm

chocolatesLink to image source

Chocolate can also come in handy if you want to cook up a storm. You can use rich dark chocolate in savory dishes like chili, as well as in sauces to go with red meats.

Of course, the more conventional route is to prepare desserts using plenty of chocolate. You can try anything from oozing fondants to fluffy mousses. Another option is to dip strawberries in melted chocolate, chill them and serve. This is easy to prepare and it looks great.

By spending some time in the kitchen creating culinary delights, you can show that someone special in your life that you truly care. It’s also a great opportunity to spend a romantic evening in with your partner. If you get a chance, practice your menu ahead of the big day. This will help ensure you don’t get into any last-minute panics and spoil the meal.

If you’re not sure what to cook, you can check out the array of recipes available online.

Create a personalized message

Chocolate can also be used to create a personalized message. Some chocolate products give you the option of including a special message. Alternatively, you can take a DIY approach. For example, you can pipe melted chocolate onto a dessert or cake and leave your message of choice.

Just make sure you think carefully about what you want to say before you start writing.

When it comes to romantic gifts, chocolate is in a league of its own. With a little imagination, you won’t struggle to impress your partner.

This is great because it teaches your child(ren) the skills needed to solve the kinds of complex problems found in virtually every career field.

IMACS challenges each student by ability level, not by age which is why they offer a FREE, one-hour placement class that is used to determine your child’s starting point (Don’t worry it’s not a test).

9 Stunning Hotel Bathrooms From Around The World

7667780540_ce64d6a6ab_zThanks to Costanavarino for the image.

When you’re looking for the perfect hotel, you’re looking for luxury. You want to relax and enjoy a comfortable bed, great facilities and hopefully a wonderful view. The bathroom isn’t always high on your list but don’t overlook it! The hotel bathroom can be a great place to relax. You can indulge in a warm bath, or get ready for a night out with luxury his-and-hers sinks.

We’ve rounded up some of the most stunning hotel bathrooms on the globe. Until now, your idea of luxury might have been a complementary bottle of shampoo. Well, prepare to be amazed. After the stress of travel, you’ll need a relaxing bathroom! Some of these rooms are included for their incredible views. Soaking in the bath while overlooking the New York skyline is a dream-come-true for many. Some of the bathrooms are included for their sheer luxury architecture and some are just a little bit weird. They’re all decadent, all indulgent, and – unfortunately – they all cost a fortune.

Maharani Suite, Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace (India)

If this bathroom makes you feel like a Queen, well that’s because it was designed for one. The luxury Indian finishes are so remarkable that the Queen herself stayed here. India is already the home of the most beautiful fabrics and rich decor. The Maharani Suite takes full advantage of this, offering an elegant and tasteful bathroom.

Penthouse Suite, Four Seasons Hotel George V (Paris)

This is probably the most expensive suite on the list. At £15,000 a night, it costs more than some people earn in a year. Is it worth it? Well, you’ll never see another bathroom quite like it. The infinity bath itself is as large as a small room. The attention to detail and luxury is unlike anything else, it feels like a grand old Parisian Palace. Oh, and there’s a statue at the end of your bath. Paris is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, but book this suite and you might not want to leave the hotel!

Jade Mountain Resort (St. Lucia)

Each of these stunning bathrooms comes complete with huge windows that overlook the Caribbean sea. Equipped with either a round jacuzzi tub or an infinity pool bath, you can soak in true style. The perfect green-blue sea stretches out to the rolling St. Lucia mountains. With all this right outside your window, it’ll be tough to drag yourself away from the bath! Each of the rooms have a lovely open feel with the warm Caribbean air floating into your bathroom.

The Kingston Treehouse, Lion Sands Game Reserve (South Africa)

Have you ever fancied sharing your bathroom with a lion? Well, now’s your chance. The Kingston Treehouse is an executive suite built away from the main hotel complex. It’s out in the wild where you’ll often see animals pacing back and forth, popping in to say hello. The treehouse is cased in large glass windows. You’ll have incredible views of the landscape and the animals themselves. If there’s a lion about, it might just be your scariest trip to the bathroom yet!

Penthouse, Trump Soho (New York)

The New York skyline is a true beauty. Visitors will spend days trying to find the best spot in the city to capture it. But the best view isn’t from the top of the Empire State Building, or from the Statue of Liberty. It’s from the bathroom of the Penthouse at Trump Soho. And if you book a room, it’s all yours. While tourists desperately search for the best photo opportunity, you can just lie in the bath and admire the perfect view.

The Fujiya Inn, Yamagata (Japan)

This one isn’t about decadence or incredible views. The Fujiya Inn is all about serenity and simplicity. It boasts a traditional Japanese decor of simple bamboo furnishings. It provides a simple room that offers complete tranquility. The smell, the environment and the quiet are all tailored to ensure that you are as relaxed as possible. If you’ve spent all day racing around the busy Japanese city, chances are, you need to wind down. Where better than Japan to indulge in complete meditation and achieve a serene calm?

Upper Pacific Suite, Post Ranch Inn (USA)

This one is all about the view. Situated at the top of 1,200 foot cliffs, your bathroom has panoramic views of the Californian coast. The room itself is luxurious and is finished on all sides with floor-to-ceiling glass. This means you get the best possible view. (Though try not to sneak a glance into your neighbour’s room!) If you suffer from vertigo, this may not be for you. The cliffs run straight down below you. It really is quite something and you’ll never take another bath like it.

Iconic City View Room, Shangri La Hotel, The Shard (London)

The Shard is Europe’s tallest building, and one of London’s newest skyscrapers. So when you book a room at the Shangri La, you know that you’re getting modern luxury and the best view in Europe. London’s skyline is iconic – with the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye and its modern architecture. It’s a beauty to behold. The bathroom itself is pure luxury. You’ll find every modern gadget here. The only thing missing is a space age bath!

Star Bath, Sanctuary Baines’ Camp (Botswana)

Is there anything more wonderful than a bath under the stars? That’s exactly what you get when you check in to Sanctuary Baines’ Camp in Botswana. Did you know that the stars look completely different from the Southern Hemisphere? After a night here, you will. You can stretch out in your tub, with a glass of wine, and admire the constellations you never knew existed. The warm African air and the sounds of the wildlife will all add to the atmosphere. The distant roar of a lion might just add to the thrill of the evening. Either way, you won’t forget this place, or this bathroom, in a hurry.

Bathrooms are where you find that extra little bit of luxury in a hotel. We all love a great hotel bed but don’t forget about the bath. After a long day of sightseeing or business meetings, the bathroom will make all the difference. You’ll pay a pretty penny for the bathrooms on this list, but it will be worth it.

It may only be October, but it is never too soon to start planning a Christmas party. Once the stores put their decorations up, it is time to start planning your festive events. Christmas parties can be a lot of hassle if you don’t plan in advance. That means that you could cause yourself unnecessary stress if you don’t start planning early. Whether you’re putting on a party for your nearest and dearest or planning a huge bash, you need some advice. Here are some amazing ideas for the ultimate Christmas party.

Hire a professional Santa

Few people incorporate Santa into their Christmas party, but that seems a little odd. Children love Santa and having him make a personal appearance at the party will make the bash amazing. You can hire a range of Santa impersonators online. Make sure that you meet the impersonator before the party. You want somebody who looks friendly and warm to greet the children and give them presents.

Get amazing caterers

Many people try and cater their parties themselves. Believe me, doing so will cause you endless trouble. You need to enjoy the party just like everybody else. That means that you need to have the time to enjoy the party. If you’re running around cooking, you won’t have a second to relax. There are loads of private chefs for hire NYC from which to choose. If you have caterers at your party, you have the bonus of them cleaning away all the plates as well.

Serve the perfect hot chocolate

One thing that everybody loves about the festive season is hot chocolate. You should make it your mission to serve the ultimate hot chocolate at your party. Get mini-marshmallows and some quality cocoa powder so that you can whip up some delicious drinks for desert.

Consider getting a band

If you are hiring a venue, you might also want to get a band for the big day. Whilst everybody enjoys your Christmas CD, they might like to hear something different this year. Look for a reasonable band to play at your party. You’re going to want people to dance at your party, and most Christmas songs are hard to dance to. Make sure you book the band far in advance. Christmas is the busiest time of year for entertainers, and so you need to get in fast.

Make sure everybody gets festive

When you are holding a party, you get to make the rules. You should insist that everybody at the party dresses in something festive. People don’t need to come dressed in Christmas sweaters, but they should make an effort to wear something a little festive. Tell people to wear Christmas badges or accessories. Getting people in a festive mood can be tough, but it will make the party more fun.

Plan traditional Christmas games

People tend to underrate traditional Christmas games. Make a list of some of your favorite games and play them at your party. You might want to play charades in groups or get the entire party involved. Children love these Christmas games, and so it will give them something to do while the adults are socializing.

Get your children involved

Don’t leave your children out when it comes to planning your party. Children love getting involved in party planning. You can have some real fun by making Christmas decorations with your children. Get some crate paper in green and red, and make some cool designs. You can make festive banners and posters will your little ones. If you enjoy baking, you might also want to consider making some Christmas cookies. You can let your children decorate them and serve them at your party.

Don’t Let Heartburn Make Your Life Hell

This post may contain affiliate links.
Thank you for visiting Cori's Cozy Corner! Please make sure to like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter and subscribe to our E-mails!

Heartburn might be a common problem, but this doesn’t make it any less distressing for sufferers. If you regularly experience this sharp, unpleasant sensation, it might be having a major impact on your quality of life.

The important thing is not to assume that heartburn is simply an unavoidable part of life. By being proactive, you can tackle the problem. At the very least, you can reduce the symptoms.

What is exactly is it?

Before you start thinking about combating heartburn, it’s a good idea to get to grips with what the health condition actually is. The technical term for heartburn is gastro-oesophageal reflux disease. Although this is a bit of a mouthful, the problem is essentially quite simple.

It’s caused by a failure of a muscle (called the oesophageal sphincter) that sits at the bottom of your gullet. This muscle should act like a valve, opening to allow food and drink in and then shutting to prevent leakage. If you suffer from heartburn, this value isn’t doing its job properly.  Rather than sealing the contents of your stomach in, it’s allowing acid to leak out.

Common symptoms include heartburn and acid reflux, which you might recognise as an unpleasant taste in your mouth. The condition can also cause difficulty and pain when swallowing.

Take action

2962762666_93a2027078Photo credit

The good news is, there are things you can do to reduce your pain and discomfort. For example, if you are overweight, try to slim down. This will help to lessen the pressure on your stomach. Giving up cigarettes can help too as smoking is known to irritate the digestive system.

Your diet and eating habits can also have an impact on this aspect of your health. Try to avoid eating large meals. Small, frequent meals are much better than three larger meals. Also, it’s helpful to have your last meal of the day at least three hours before you go to bed.

Limit the number of potentially irritating foods you consume too. For example, coffee, chocolate, tomatoes, spicy food and alcohol are all known to contribute to heartburn. You don’t have to cut these products out of your meals completely, but reducing your intake may be important.

It can also help to raise the head of your bed by around 20cm. If you do this, use wooden blocks and don’t simply add more pillows. This is because using additional pillows can place more pressure on your abdomen.

Seek medical help

There are many more home remedies for heartburn that you can find online. However, if you can’t tackle the problem yourself, it’s time to seek medical help. Your doctor may be able to prescribe medications. He or she will also be able to tell you if any of your existing medications could be contributing to the problem. Bear in mind that, depending on the cause of your heartburn, you might need surgery.

Taking action to address this medical complaint can help you to boost your quality of life, so it really is well worth making the effort.

Must-have Items for Your Baby’s Nursery

This post may contain affiliate links.
Thank you for visiting Cori's Cozy Corner! Please make sure to like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter and subscribe to our E-mails!

Getting ready to become a parent is an exciting time, but it can be difficult and daunting too. As well as putting up with morning sickness and mood swings, you have to prepare your home for the impending arrival. Top of your list of priorities may be getting your nursery ready.

Knowing exactly what to buy for this room can be tricky. There are so many products available these days and unless you’re careful you can end up spending a fortune. To help ensure you cover all the basics without busting your budget in the process, take a look at this guide to must-have nursery items.

Storage

For such small things, babies sure do have a lot of stuff. It’s amazing how many clothes, toys and accessories tots need. To ensure your nursery doesn’t descend into chaos, you’ll need storage – and plenty of it! Don’t worry if you’re lacking square footage in this part of your home. By being savvy, you should be able to cram enough storage into the room.

Full-height shelving will help you to make optimal use of all the vertical space on offer. You can also get storage boxes that double up as seating.

A Crib

cribImage by Valentina Powers

Of course, no nursery is complete without a crib. This is possibly the most important item you’ll get, so it’s important that you make the right choice. If you’re unsure which model to go for, simply check out a good pregnancy resource online.

Any crib you select should conform to current safety standards. You’ll also need to think about special features. For example, some of these items come with a storage drawer. It’s also possible to get convertible versions that turn into toddler beds. These may cost more upfront, but they could save you cash in the long run.

Mattress

A crib mattress is an essential item too. This should be firm and comfy for your little one. Ideally, it will be lightweight too. After all, you’ll find yourself manoeuvring the item at all times of the day and night in order to change the sheets. For safety, the mattress should fit snugly up to the rails of the crib.

Monitor

Another must is a baby monitor. These products make it much easier to know when your tot is stirring and in need of attention. They also offer peace of mind. You’ll need to decide whether to go for straightforward audio versions or to get monitors with video functions too.

Changing Mat

If you have the space and your budget will accommodate it, you might want to get a special changing table for your nursery. At the very least though, you’ll need a mat. Changing babies can be a messy business, so these items are essential.

Once you’ve got your storage, crib, mattress, monitor and mat, you can rest assured you’ve covered the basics for your nursery. Of course, there are lots of extras you can get too. Always bear in mind though that when you become a parent, your friends and family will swamp you with baby gifts.

9 Amazing Tips To Successful Parenting

Thank you for visiting Cori's Cozy Corner! Please make sure to like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter and subscribe to our E-mails!

2846985868_492a1cc648_zThere is no rule book when it comes to parenting. When you find yourself pregnant, everybody will want to give you advice. The majority of the tips and tricks people tell you will be worthless. Smile and nod when they give you advice, but don’t take anything too seriously. When it comes to parenting, it’s all about finding your way. Different people adopt different parenting styles. What works for one person, might not work for you. There will be a certain amount of trial and error when you first become a parent. That is okay. You don’t need to take everybody’s advice. Instead, stick to a few certain rules and you’ll be fine. Here are nine amazing tips to successful parenting. The rest is up to you.

1. Set boundaries for your children

You must set boundaries early on in your children’s lives. Letting your children do whatever they want and trying to make rules later will not work. Children learn habits in their early years. That means that you need to make sure you set out boundaries for your children before they grow too old. Remember to present a united front. If you say they can’t do something, but their dad says they can, you will look weak. Instead, talk to your partner about the rules and make sure you agree on things first.

2. Give your children space

Some parents make the mistake of smothering their children with attention. Doing so means that your children will end up relying on you for everything they need. You are raising a person. One day that person will need to survive alone. Showing your children how to be alone now, will help them in their future lives. Give your children time and space away from the family when they can read or relax. Doing so will teach your children to be comfortable in by themselves.

3. Make the communication easy

When your children come to you with a problem, don’t get mad. You want to encourage your children to talk to you about things. If your children have made a mistake, but choose to talk to you about it, you should be happy. Many children try and hide things from their parents. They fear what their parents will say, and so avoid telling them bad news. You need to encourage your children to talk to you. Let them know that you are always there to talk to and that you won’t judge them if they need help.

4. Be affectionate and loving

You can never be too loving when it comes to your children. Sure, you need to give them space, but you also need to make sure that they know you love them. There is nothing worse for a child than wanting affection. If your children feel like you don’t want them, they will feel lost in the world. You are their parent. As such, you need to show them all the love they need. Having a healthy relationship with you will help them to establish good relationships as they get older.

5. Learn from your mistakes

If you are a first-time parent, you will make mistakes. Don’t beat yourself up when you make a mistake. Instead, learn from the mistake and move on with your life. Many parents berate themselves when something goes wrong in the family. Remember, you can’t change the past, but you can change the future. Move forward when you make a mistake and make sure it doesn’t happen again.

6. Trust your children

If you raise your children well, they will be trustworthy. It is as simple as that. Make sure you show your children that you trust them and know they will do the right thing. When you give your children a level of freedom, they are more likely to do the right thing. When your children feel that you trust them, they want to maintain that level of trust. They know that without that trust, you will stop them doing certain things. Making sure that you give your children a chance to make the right decisions in life. Doing so will mean that they have a strong relationship with you.

7. Find a stable babysitter

Stability is essential in your children’s lives. You should make sure that everything from daily routines to babysitters is stable. Changing your sitter every week, will confuse your children and make them uncomfortable. Instead, try and find a babysitter that you’re comfortable with, who you can rely on all the time. When you find someone who you can trust, you will feel more comfortable leaving your children. Your children will create a bond with the sitter, and so they will feel comfortable with them. That means that when the babysitter comes over, there will be no arguments and no fuss.

8. Befriend your neighbors

You need to know who your neighbors are when you have children. Knowing who is living next door to you will help when you have a problem. If your neighbors get to know you and your children, they will be likely to look out for your children. That means that if there is an emergency, you can trust your neighbors to step in and help out. Having that level of social support will make a world of difference. Knowing that the neighbors are watching out for your children will mean that you feel safe and content.

9. Presents are not important

One mistake that every new parent makes is trying to buy their children. Buying loads of fancy presents and gifts is not important. What is important is spending quality time with your children and showing them that you love them. You can, of course, get your children gifts now and then. The point is not to rely on giving gifts to make your children behave. Instead, take an active role in your children’s lives. Show up to sports games and take an interest in their school work. As they grow up, your children will remember the time you spend with them, not the gifts you bought them.
