Disclaimer- I received free admission to the movie mentioned below to conduct my review but I all opinions are 100% my own.  I received no other compensation.
frozen523797d0f0bb9

I have been waiting for Disney’s Frozen to come out for a long time.  I saw the initial character sketches and story boards when I went to L.A. last year with Disney and then I saw a sneak peek of some of the scenes when I went on my most recent Disney trip so I knew just how amazing the whole movie was going to be.

Walt Disney Animation Studios, the studio behind “Tangled” and “Wreck-It Ralph,” presents “Frozen,” a stunning big-screen comedy adventure.  In Frozen, fearless optimist Anna (voice of Kristen Bell) sets off on an epic journey to find her sister Elsa (voice of Idina Menzel- LOVE HER!).  Anna teams up with rugged mountain man Kristoff (voice of Jonathan Groff) and his loyal reindeer Sven.  Elsa’s icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter and Anna hopes she will be able to get Elsa to reverse this eternal winter.  Encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls and a hilarious snowman named Olaf (voice of Josh Gad), Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom.

My whole family LOVED everything about Frozen from the beautiful imagery to the amazing songs.  We already purchased the soundtrack and have been listening to it non-stop.  Of course our favorite song is “Let It Go” sung my Idina Menzel who has the voice of an angel.  As 2 sisters themselves I think my girls were really able to relate to sisters Anna and Elsa.  They loved the pretty dresses and of course the beautiful ice castle.  There was enough humor in Frozen for my husband to enjoy it, too!  Frozen is a great movie for the whole family.
When you go to see Frozen make sure to get there on time as the movie short that comes on before Frozen, Get a Horse, is AMAZING!  I don’t want to give anything away but it is one of the best things I have ever seen on the big screen.  DON’T MISS IT!!!

WatchMinder Vibrating Watch and Reminder System Product Review and Giveaway

This post may contain affiliate links.
Thank you for visiting Cori's Cozy Corner! Please make sure to like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter and subscribe to our E-mails!

Disclosure- I received the item(s) mentioned below to conduct my review. I received no other compensation and my opinions are 100% my own.

watchminder vibrating watch
Both of my daughters have been diagnosed with ADHD which can sometimes make life for them challenging.  They sometimes forget things at school or at home, or forget to do their chores, or forget to write down their homework before they leave school.  As a parent I often felt helpless to help them remember things while they weren’t with me.  I tried leaving notes in my older daughter’s planner about bringing home a certain book she needed for her homework, but if she didn’t even open her planner to write her homework down, my not wouldn’t even be seen.  Then I found the answer to our prayers- The WatchMinder vibrating watch and reminder system.  The WatchMinder is an easy to program sports watch for all wrist sizes.  It has an adjustable band so it is perfect for children, teens, and those with smaller wrists.  You can also purchase optional color Velcro bands so your child can choose their favorite color.  I like that the WatchMinder has a rechargeable battery with an included battery charger.  You just plug the charger in and clip the connection to the watch to charge it.  No worrying about finding the right size batteries.   It’s waterproof, too, so no worrying children getting it wet when they wash their hands.

So what exactly does the WatchMinder do?  There are 65 pre-programmed messages to choose from or you can create your own personalized messages.  Once the watch is fully charged it is easy to program it just the way you want and you don’t even need a computer.   There are 2 ways to set up a reminder message- training mode or reminder mode.  If there is a behavior such as paying attention or sitting still that you want your child to work on you can set up a message in training mode to remind your child at set intervals to “pay attention” or “sit still”.  I set my older daughter’s watch to remind her to pay attention every hour.  You can also schedule messages in the reminder mode to go off at a specific time each day.  For example I set my older daughter’s WatchMinder to remind her every day at 1:30 to write down her homework and then another reminder at 1:45 for her to pack up her backpack.  No excuse for forgetting homework when your watch vibrates to remind you, right?  We love that the WatchMinder vibrates so it doesn’t disturb the rest of my girls’ classes.  There is a snooze repeat feature so the alarm will go off a second time a minute later if you ignore it the first time.

I like that you can also program custom messages.  My younger daughter was having a hard time remembering to go to the bathroom and with our busy schedules I would often forget to remind her.  Now I don’t have to worry about remembering to remind her.  I was able to set her watch to remind her to go to the bathroom at 7:30 and 3:30 every day.  I was also able to set both watches to tell my girls I love them at a specific time.
watchminder

My girls love their WatchMinders.  The only thing I wish I could do with the WatchMinder is be able to schedule reminders for specific days of the week.  My daughter plays a sport once a week so I wish I could set her watch to only reminder her about practice on that one afternoon a week but I am so happy with the progress they have made since they started wearing their WatchMinders.

The WatchMinder is great for all children but especially children with ADHD, ADD, Autism, bedwetting, incontinence, or even anxiety (set a reminder to breathe calmly).  But the WatchMinder isn’t just for children.  It’s great for adults, too!  Many adults need reminders to remember to take their pills, insulin, vitamins, etc.  I know I am horrible at remembering to take medication.  The deaf and hard of hearing can benefit from the WatchMinder because the unique vibrating reminder allows the user to “feel” what time it is.  It is great for stroke survivors, people with brain injuries, developmentally disabled people, and Alzheimer’s patients to remember things like basic hygiene, meals, and other important parts of their day.  If you have a child who needs some reminders or you know someone who could use a little help remembering to do things, WatchMinder watches make a great gift.

People love getting really creative, one-of-a-kind books for Christmas. Books that elicit a “where did you find this?” response. As the leading indie- and self-publishing platform, Blurb has an entire online bookstore full of unique books by an incredible array of undiscovered, self-published authors, artists, and photographers. And while these books probably aren’t in your recipient’s bookshelf, many of them should be. So, if you’re thinking of giving unique gifts this year, consider these titles. Each costs around $40 USD or less:

Cookie Cravings by Maria Lichty and Heidi Larsen
We all have cookie cravings. Popular food blogger Maria Lichter decided to put them into something deliciously original: A baking book featuring 30 recipes you won’t find anywhere else.

Dog by My Side by Adam Schnitzer
This charming collection of original, vintage photos shows us that as long as there have been cameras, we’ve wanted to photograph our canine best friends. As a special bonus, there’s a glossary of the early photographic methods used in the original images.

Around the World with a Toy Camera by Giorgio Giussani
Perfect for the photography or graffiti-art fan on your list. This book is an explosion of gritty color that explores the wonders of street art and analog photography.

Food Stories by Elena Scott
A short, wonderfully illustrated collection of recipes (and food stories) that will inspire you to pick up the knife and spatula—or just pen and paper.

Things I Love by Carol Nehls and Jessica Rose
Illustrated and written many years apart by a mother and daughter, this sweet rhyming story told by a fox is pure joy for all ages.

Patent Pending by Jordan Natyshen
Chicken goggles, air-conditioned rocking chairs, monkey jockeys for greyhounds… humankind has invented and sought to patent some amazing and crazy things. Illustrator Jordan Natyshen illustrates some of the strangest in this history of odd inventions.

Tiny Horses are Everywhere by Thea Lux
The perfect stocking-stuffer for fans of off-beat humor, this undeniably nutty book is based on a Tumblr blog and combines simple photo collages of small horses in human environments with incredibly funny captions.

Rouleaux by Anastassia Elias
What can you do with an empty roll of toilet paper? If you’re French artist Anastassia Elias, you create tiny dioramas inside of the discarded tubes. Inspired by art and movies, these pieces are beautifully crafted, fun, and unbelievably detailed.

Low Fidelity by Bobby Grossman
If you, or someone you love, listened to New York punk and new wave in the 70s, chances are your favorite artist can be found in this book. Bobby Grossman photographed Iggy Pop, David Byrne, The Ramones, Debbie Harry, Andy Warhol and many more. This book is a time capsule of—and a love letter to—a legendary time, place, and sound.

Take a second and head over to Blurb to see if you can end your search for that perfect gift this season!
