Hawaii is one of the travel destinations that is on almost every traveler’s bucket list. However, when you think about visiting Hawaii, you might not automatically believe it to be the most child-friendly destination for your next family vacation compared to resort cities such as Orlando. If you are planning to travel to Hawaii next with your kids, here are some top tips.

1.   Pick a Beautiful Resort

The one element of your trip that can make or break its success is your accommodation. It is important to find a resort to stay at that your children will adore and that has the facilities that you could ever want. This resort might also offer entertainment for the younger members of your party. Additionally, it should be in a prime location that has easy access to many of the top beaches and attractions that you want to visit. If you are looking for a great place to stay next year, you should consider the many Maui resorts that are out there and that can allow you to indulge in the luxury that you and your family deserve.

2.   Plan Family-Friendly Attractions

Although you might believe that the ideal vacation includes lounging on the beach for days on end or trekking up the nearest volcano, your kids’ idea of the perfect trip might be entirely different. To make sure that the vacation is for everyone and that each member of your party can have an excellent time, you should consider looking around for family-friendly attractions that can keep your children entertained too. For instance, you might decide to take a break from walking to visit the Honolulu Zoo or Waikiki Aquarium, or you might decide to let your kids get up close and personal with animals in the wild by taking them on a snorkeling trip, where you might encounter rays and turtles.

3.   Track the Weather

There is nothing worse than hiking with your kids in the rain, though, especially if they are not that fond of outdoor climates. Rather than sticking to your schedule no matter what, you should consider playing it by ear and allowing the weather to decide what you do each day. You should also check the weather in advance so that you can dress your kids in the appropriate clothing, or else you might find that the day is filled with grumbles. If you visit during the rainy season, you might look around for playgrounds or indoor attractions such as the Children’s Discovery Center. These can allow you to fill your day with fun even if the weather does decide to cloud over.

4.   Think About Transport

Public transport can be a nightmare with children, even though there are good bus links on the islands. As such, if you can, you might hire a car that can allow you to go wherever you want, whenever you want. If you are unable to do this, there are an assortment of taxi companies on the islands that can make it easy to get around without too much of a hassle.
