I decided to try something new. I am no Martha, but I do love to bake and try new things. I always hear good things about Torani Flavorings and you can whip up some pretty amazing drinks with it. You can make anything from a sugar free iced Rocky Road Mocha to an Orange Creamsicle Martini. But I couldn’t find much about baking with it. So I decided to try my own recipe.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup of white sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour (all purpose)
1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup Torani Hazelnut Flavoring

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 9×9 inch pan or line a muffin pan with paper liners.
    2. In a medium bowl,  mix together the sugar and butter. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Combine flour and baking powder, add to the creamy  mixture and stir well. Finally add in the milk and Torani until batter is smooth. Pour or spoon batter into the prepared pan.
    3. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes in the preheated oven. For cupcakes, bake 20 to 25 minutes. Ovens vary

The cake came out super delicious! It was a little dense so maybe I need to play around with the ingredients a little more, but definitely tasty. Just enough flavor to taste the hazelnut, but not overpowering. And the baking cake made our house smell heavenly…I then tried to make it with “box cake mix” which was pretty amazing as well. I just used 1/2 the amount of water, and used the Torani Hazelnut to substitute the other half.  Baked for the same required time, and BAM! I would say the best out of a box cake I have had in a very long time.  The flavor was so intense and succulent but not too strong.  Just what it needed. I will definitely be exploring more of the Torani Flavorings. Looks like the possibilities are endless! I can’t wait to try Torani Flavorings in other baked goods!
