Disclosure- I received the bracelet and charms mentioned below to facilitate my review.  All opinions are 100% my own.soufeel jewelry

I love jewelry, as do most women.  I don’t wear just any jewelry though.  I like wearing jewelry that is meaningful to me.  One of my favorite styles of jewelry, silver bead bracelets.  I love these bracelets because they are personalized and unique to the wearer because you can choose charms that have meaning to you, but I don’t like the price.  While I do own an expensive bead bracelet (you know the brand, the one that has the same name as that music playing app) that was given to me as a gift, I haven’t worn it much because I can’t really afford to add beads to it.
I was recently asked to review a SOUFEEL bracelet and I am so excited to share it with my readers.  Since I have the classic style flexible bead bracelet I opted for a bangle style bracelet from SOUFEEL.  I love that Soufeel’s bracelets are 925 sterling silver just like the more expensive brands but with Soufeel they are totally affordable.  These aren’t some cheap knock offs!

DSC_0033 (1024x844)Let’s start with the presentation.  I was so impressed with how nicely they came packages with a gift box and a gift bag.  Then inside the box each bead was individually wrapped in a tiny plastic baggie to keep it protected.  DSC_0013 (1024x681)Each piece feels nice and solid, not cheap at all.  I love that the beads are all 925 sterling silver and can fit Pandora and Chamilia bracelets but at a much more affordable price.  DSC_0035 (1024x681)The selection of beads at SOUFEEL is awesome and they are adding new beads every month.  For my bracelet I choose a dolphin bead because my daughters and I all love dolphins, a round bead with hearts and the December birth stone because both of my girls have December birthdays, and the Love of Swan charm that has pink stones to represent my m husband and me.  I think they look great together and can’t wait to add more beads.  Check out their beautiful new arrivals. Traveling this summer?  Why not get a suitcase bead to remember your trip?  You can even design beads with your personal pictures on them!

personalized charm
SOUFEEL bracelets make great gifts for the special person in your life.  It is such a memorable, unique gift to give someone a bracelet and beads that are meaningful to them.  They have everything from birthstone beads, zodiac signs, animals, religious beads, and so much more.  Give the gift of a Soufeel bracelet and start a tradition of adding beads for every holiday.  The 925 sterling silver bracelets start at just $25 and the beads start at just $3.99.  YES, $3.99 for sterling silver beads!!!  Who wouldn’t want to get one as a gift?
DSC_0020 (1024x665)
SOUFEEL has some great offers, too.  When you spend $59, $79 or $99, you will get a pair of free earrings, a free charm and enjoy a free sterling silver bracelet!  They offer free shipping worldwide with orders over $50 and 365-day return and exchange guarantee!

Top 7 Reasons to Stay in an Orlando All Star Vacation Home

Disclosure- I went on an all expense paid press trip sponsored by Disney.  All opinions are 100% my own.

Last month while I was a part of Disney’s #MonkeyKingdomEvent in Orlando, 24 other bloggers and I had the opportunity to stay in one of several luxury All Star Vacation Homes.  Located at 8039 Acadia Estates Ct., the home I stayed in was incredible.  It is 3,183 square feet, has 5 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, and sleeps a maximum of 12 guests.  Normally my family and I stay at either a Disney property or an hotel in the Disney area but that was before my experience at the All Star Vacation Home.  There are so many reasons to stay in a vacation home instead of a hotel.  Here are a few of them.

BEAUTY

DSC_0119 (1024x681)When you step into your luxury All Star Vacation Home it’s like stepping into a model home.  It is beautifully decorated yet feels like home.  It is the perfect comfortable home away from home for your Orlando vacation.

 SPACE

Floorplan

When you stay in an All Star Vacation Home it’s not like staying in a small hotel room where you have no privacy and everyone has to share one or two rooms with little space to spread out and relax.  The All Star Vacation Homes are 2 story homes with several master bedrooms, twin bedrooms, multiple bathrooms, a dining room, kitchen, pool, and more!  You and your family won’t be tripping all over each other in this house!  Each room also has plenty of closet space, drawer space, plus extra linens and towels to make your stay more comfortable.

roomsEveryone can have their own room to spread out and relax in.  Want to vacation with your extended family?  No problem!  There are plenty of rooms (and bathrooms) for everyone!  Instead of spending money on several hotel rooms, this is a much better way for a large family to spend their vacation.
Nemo Room (1024x681)

They even have fun themed rooms for the kids!  How cute is this Nemo room?  One of the other houses has a princess room..

COMFORT

couchThere are so many comfortable places to put your feet up and relax in these homes.  The bed I stayed in was so plush and cozy that I feel asleep quickly and slept like a baby every night.  There are plush reclining chairs in the home theater, cushy couches in the living room, and lots of chairs out by the pool to enjoy on your down time.  When we vacation we’re usually going, going, going so it’s nice to have a place that is comfortable to just relax and enjoy some much needed down time.  When you stay at a hotel the couches are usually pretty hard as are the chairs and you have to fight for chairs around the pool.  No need to worry about any of that when you stay in a private home.  If you stay in one of these vacation homes make sure to leave a day or two free just to stay home and relax.  It will be much needed after several crazy days at the parks.

ENTERTAINMENT

entertainmentIf you stay at an All Star Vacation Home you don’t have to leave the house to have fun.  Upstairs there is a full sized video game and a pool table so get ready to rack ’em up!  Need to do a little work, there’s even a comfortable desk plus each house has it’s own WiFi.
screening roomWant to watch your favorite shows or even a movie?  Not only is there a television in the living room area but there is a plush, comfortable media room for everyone to enjoy.  I just love how it was decorated with lots of classic movie posters.

COMFORTS OF HOME

kitchenOne of the things I love most about staying in a vacation home is having a full kitchen with all the comforts of home at my disposal.  It is gorgeous and they’ve really thought of everything.  I didn’t get to cook at much in the kitchen because we were kept pretty busy on our press trip but I did cook a few times and this kitchen really had me wishing that it was my kitchen at home!

comforts of home 2The kitchens at the All Star Vacation Homes are fully stocked with every appliance, utensil, cookware, and dishware you might possibly need. They’ve thought of everything- full size side by side refrigerator with ice maker and water in the door, gas stove, toaster, coffeemaker, blender, electric can opener, measuring cups, and so much more!  They even stock the house with dish soap, a roll of paper towel, and detergent for the dishwasher plus containers to save your leftovers!  Save money on dining out and cook some of your meals in your home away from home.

diningReady for breakfast or a midnight snack?  You can dine comfortably in the kitchen nook area.  Want a more formal dining experience?  Check out the beautiful dining room table that seats six.

laundry

Don’t worry about bringing your entire closet with you on your trip.  Each house features a full size washer and dryer so you can do a quick load and have clean clothes.  Do a load before you leave and you won’t have to worry about doing mountains of laundry when you return from your vacation.  That is usually one of the things I hate about coming back from vacation.  It was so nice coming home and having all my laundry done for a change.

GREAT FOR FAMILIES

highchairMy girls are tweens now so we don’t travel with lots of gear anymore (thankfully!) but I was pleasantly surprised to find a high chair and a jumper for children as well as a childproof gate around the pool.  Those would have been such a blessing when my girls were younger.  While my family doesn’t need the baby gear, the All Star Vacation Homes are so family friendly for all types of families.  It would be so nice to stay in a house where I wouldn’t have to worry about my kids being too noisy, as they often are.

PRIVATE POOL AND HOT TUB

poolHate trying to find a towel or a lounge chair at a crowded hotel pool?  Don’t like swimming with that creepy old man watching you and your kids?  Or the rowdy teenagers on vacation from college?  That’s not a problem at an All Star Vacation Home.  Step right outside to your private pool with ample space for lounging around.  Feel like spending a relaxing day by the pool and in the hot tub?  There’s even a barbecue if you want to have a cookout.

With so many amazing comforts and amenities, once you stay at an All Star Vacation Home, you’ll never want to stay in a hotel again!

2014 Kia Optima Hybrid Review

Although my time behind the wheel of the Kia Optima Hybrid was relatively brief, I was still able to experience most of the cool features of this Kia, as well as realize why the Optima is Kia’s best selling vehicle in America.

kiaPhoto credit- Kia Motors

Not too long ago, I had the pleasure of driving home a Kia Optima after a pretty awesome week in Orlando. But just like the week’s activities, this Optima was unique and unlike all others —it’s a hybrid.

Demand of hybrid vehicles is at an all time high, and as I drove the Optima Hybrid from Orlando, to our home in South Florida, I got a glimpse of why that might be. The Optima is very spacious and comfortable inside, and my girls definitely loved their time in the backseat. Although when it comes to enjoying seats, I was definitely in love with the heated seats…I’m just kidding, the COOLED seats, who needs heated seats in Florida? Can you imagine cooling down your leather seat during a hot summer day? Well, you can do just that with the Optima Hybrid!  Plus it has heated seats for cold winters, too!

We took the Kia Optima for a quick trip to Downtown Disney during our week in Orlando and it was such a pleasure putting in the address and having the car’s GPS direct us exactly where we needed to go with ease!  The Hybrid model adds a few unique exterior touches like clear taillights and clear side markers, but overall, the Hybrid model looks more modern than it’s internal combustion-only sibling.

On the road, the Kia Hybrid is smooth and quiet, and depending on whether you are on the highway or street, it’s behavior can vary. At lower speeds the Kia will use its 46.9-hp electric motor to make sure gas efficiency remains a priority, but at higher speeds the 154-hp gasoline engine will seamlessly activate and deliver extra power and speed. Even though our trip distance wasn’t very long, the Optima delivered an approximate 37mph combined.

kia rearPhoto credit- Kia Motors

Now, if only they could make it clean itself, because once our drive was over the entire front end was splattered in love bugs so I didn’t get any good pictures of this beauty. Hopefully for the 2016 model, right?  I can’t wait to test drive the next Kia.  They have come a long way from when they first came out and I am seriously in love!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge’s Sanaa Restaurant Review #MonkeyKingdomEvent

sanaa review
Sanaa, which means “Work of Art” in Swahili, is a beautiful restaurant located in Animal Kingdom Lodge’s Kidani Village.  This hidden gem serves a mix of African and Indian cuisine made with authentic cooking methods and flavors at a moderate price.  I had the opportunity to dine there for lunch a few weeks ago as part of the Monkey Kingdom Event with 24 other bloggers.  We had the opportunity to not only experience the food but also Dine with an Animal Specialist which is something anyone can do.  I suggest going for lunch and try to get a table by the window so you can see all the amazing views as you look outside at all of the animals such as zebras and giraffes.  You won’t be able to see the animals as much if you go at night since it will be dark but they do have night vision goggles outside in the viewing area that you can use after your meal if you do go for dinner. 20150415_121200 (1024x576)We started our meal with a bread flight that had various types of Indian-style breads such as Naan and Kucha.  It was served with various accompaniments such as chutney, hummus, etc.  Some where sweet, some were spicy, all were incredibly delicious.  There was something for everyone with this bread appetizer.

Indian-style Bread Service

Choice of Three Breads – Traditional Naan, Garlic-Ginger Naan, Spiced Naan, Onion Kucha, or Paneer Paratha. Choice of Three Accompaniments – Red Chile Sambal, Cucumber Raita, Coriander Chutney, Mango Chutney, Coconut Chutney, Garlic Pickle, Spicy Jalapeño-Lime Pickle, Roasted Red Bell Pepper Hummus, or Tamarind Chutney

20150415_122541 (576x1024)

Our next course was a salad sampler course that had several salads including chickpeas with cucumber and tomato and my favorite, a watermelon cucumber salad.  All of the salads were delicious and tasted incredibly fresh.

Salad Sampler

Choice of Three Salads: Chickpeas with Cucumber and Tomato; Watermelon, Cucumber and Fennel; Kachumbari; Mango; or Bhel Puri

20150415_124408 (1024x576)   For our main course we were served Basmati rice with 2 different dishes, Goan Seafood Curry and Butter Chicken.  The Goan Seafood Curry was delicious but the Butter Chicken was my FAVORITE!  It was so flavorful and had such a smooth, delicate sauce.  I am craving it just thinking about it.  If you only get one thing at Sanaa make sure it is the Butter Chicken.

Slow-cooked in Gravy, Simple and Well-seasoned

Choice of Two served with Basmati Rice or Five-Grain Pilaf – Butter Chicken, Goan Seafood Curry, Chicken Vindaloo, Spicy Durban Shrimp, or Beef Short Ribs

11182248_10153168361345027_5134649308128788875_nThanks As Mom Sees It for this picture of the delicious desserts.  I was so excited about the desserts that I forgot to take a picture before I dove in! All 3 desserts in the dessert trio were as delicious as they looked.  They were presented together on a plate with a fancy layer of chocolate to tie the whole dessert together.  Each one was equally as rich and decadent as the next.  The Tanzanian Chocolate Mousse was sweet, rich, and perfect for any chocolate lover.  The Banana Cheesecake was smooth and had just the right amount of sweetness.  And the Kulfi was sweet and delicious.  It is similar to an ice cream and the perfect way to end our meal.

Dessert Trio

Tanzanian Chocolate Mousse, Banana Cheesecake, and Seasonal Kulfi

Here’s a Sanaa menu  sample.  What I love about Sanaa is that I stepped out of my comfort zone and ate things I’ve never had before but loved it all.  The chefs at Sanaa are very accommodating.  If you have a special dietary restriction they work with you to make a meal that you’ll love.  In our group we had several bloggers with allergies and a few vegetarians and the chef came out personally to go over the menu with them, offer them alternative choices, and make sure they had food they would love.  Sanaa is one of my new favorite places to go when I go to Walt Disney World and I can’t wait to take my family there the next time we’re in town. Don’t forget to take your family to see Monkey Kingdom!!! P1240408 Disclosure- I was invited on an all expense paid trip to Orlando for the Monkey Kingdom Event.  All opinions are 100% my own.

Going on Safari, Disney Style on the Wild Africa Trek at Animal Kingdom #MonkeyKingdomEvent

Wild Africa Trek 004I love animals so I was especially thrilled when I was invited on a press trip for the release of Disneynature’s newest movie, Monkey Kingdom, which is now in theaters.  If you haven’t seen it yet, make sure to check it out opening week (April 17-23rd, 2015) because a portion of your ticket price will go towards helping animals.  As part of the press trip, 24 bloggers and I had the opportunity to experience Animal Kingdom’s Wild Africa Trek.  I looked up the Wild Africa Trek on Disney’s website and I was immediately excited to learn about everything the trek would entail.  The Wild Africa Trek is a VIP guided 3 hour adventure.  I had no idea such an amazing tour existed at Animal Kingdom.  WARNING~ Lots of pictures to follow but with views like this you can understand the need for so many pictures!
Wild Africa Trek 005 (1) (1024x680)You can see us wearing our vests and harnesses here.

At the start of the trek we were all geared up in a special vest and harness to keep us safe.  We were given water bottles to fill with water and connect to our vests that we were able to keep after the trek.  It is hot in Florida so the water was much needed.  Once everyone was securely fitted with their gear, we were given wireless headsets so we could easily hear our tour guides, and we set out on our trek.  The first part of the trek is a walking tour where we saw lots of birds and other animals.  Our guides gave us lots of information about the animals and everything we were seeing as well as Disney’s conservation efforts and ways we could help.  One initiative I found interesting is called Dogs Saving Cats. In Namibia farmers are killing cheetah because they are killing their livestock.  In this initiative Anatolian shepherds and Kangal dogs are given to farmers to protect their livestock.  Cheetahs are afraid of the dogs so they won’t go near them and kill the livestock. They teach the farmers wildlife management and the value of biodiversity while addressing human-wildlife conflict.  This is just one of the ways Disney helps animals.

This tour is a bit rigorous so you must have physical stamina, be comfortable with heights, and be able to walk along small hills, foliage and unsteady rope bridges on this tour.  I was impressed that our gear and harnesses were checked several times as we went along to make sure that everything was fitting properly to keep us safe.

P1240429We saw all sorts of creatures big and small along our trek!

We walked for a bit and stopped to watch a hippo getting fed.  I wouldn’t want to get in that mouth!
P1240425

Wild Africa Trek 012

Wild Africa Trek 015 (1024x680)

Then came my favorite part, the part I had been waiting for……the wooden rope bridge.  Yes, this bridge.  The one that goes right over hippos and crocodiles!
Wild Africa Trek 021 (1024x680)Can you see how focused and determined I was?  I was a little nervous at first, but crossing the bridge was really easier than I had thought it would be.

Wild Africa Trek 076 (680x1024)

Wild Africa Trek 078Pausing for a photo here.  One of the most amazing things about the Wild Africa Safari is that a trained photographer will take pictures throughout the adventure of you, the animals, and anything else you would like them to take pictures of.  At the end of your expedition, you’ll receive a photo code that you can use to access and download images taken during your Wild Africa Trek experience.  This is all included in the price of your trek.  It was so nice not having to worry about getting in pictures.

Wild Africa Trek 090 with wordsHere I am giving a thumbs up when I completed both bridges.

Wild Africa Trek 020 (680x1024)

Yes, those are lots of crocodiles directly under us.

P1240436Such a pretty view from above.
P1240465Of course this is the view looking down.
P1240468Open wide!

Wild Africa Trek 104After you cross the bridge you have the opportunity to go out on a ledge overlooking the crocodiles for a closer look.  But don’t worry, you’re harnessed in and tethered so you can’t get too close to the edge.

Next we got onto a rugged safari vehicle over an open savanna teeming with native African creatures.  We were given special chilled washcloths that were infused with essential oils to help cool us off which was a nice touch.  On the safari vehicle there were also binoculars if we wanted to use them to see the animals out of the savanna.

Here are just some of the animals we saw during our Wild Africa Trek:

Wild Africa Trek 011With all the walking we built up quite an appetite.  Fortunately we were treated to some delicious, African inspired snacks.  There was a nice variety and they were able to accommodate vegetarians and people with food allergies.  I was really impressed with how accommodating Disney’s food service was our entire trip for people with special dietary needs.
Wild Africa Trek 131

Wild Africa Trek 133Yes we were glistening by this point.  Ok who am I kidding, we were sweaty by this point but look how pretty the whole food set up was.
Wild Africa Trek 141The view where we had our snack was so pretty and we were able to take several pictures with the gorgeous scenery behind us.
Wild Africa Trek 142

Wild Africa Trek 148

Wild Africa Trek 167Here are our amazing, knowledgeable tour guides.  They knew so much about the animals and also taught us about Disney’s conservation programs, how Disney is helping animals all around the world and lots more.  One of the first things we learned really stuck with me:

We don’t inherit this land from our parents, we borrow it from our children.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • All things need to be attached to you or stored in the lockers provided by the attraction.  They have cords to attach your cellphone, sunglasses, etc. to your body so they won’t drop down into the water.  If you want to bring a camera it must be attached to you or around your neck with a strap.  I brought my digital camera with me but chose to leave my DSLR at home because I didn’t want the extra weight around my neck.  Since the photographer was taking pictures, too, I didn’t have to worry about missing anything.  It is really personal preference.  Some of my blogger friends didn’t bring anything with them.  Others used DSLR cameras, cellphones (with a strap attached to their wrists), and a few even wore GoPro cameras.
  • Wild Africa Trek is $189 to $249 per person, plus tax depending on the season.  This DOES NOT include the required separate admission ticket to Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park.

monkeykingdom552f1841945ef“Monkey Kingdom is like Downton Abbey meets Game of Thrones”, Dr. M. Sanjayan

Monkeys are my favorite animal so I was beyond excited when I heard that Disneynature was making a movie all about monkeys.  Monkey Kingdom tells the story of Maya, a monkey and her struggles to raise her baby boy while being one of the lower members of her group of moneys social structure. Life is hard for her as most of the other monkeys are higher up on the social structure than she is.  They get to live higher than her in the trees and get the better foods and shelter.  Maya on the other hand gets the scraps left on the bottom of the trees.  She wants to provide the best she can for her son but it isn’t easy.  I was really amazed how relatable her story is and how much human emotion monkeys show.  You could take the story of Maya and turn it into a story about a human single mother raising her baby son on her own without the father around and living as part of the lower class.  It is a story that plays out everyday for many mothers around the world.  Human or monkey, mothers just want to provide the best for their children and do whatever they can to provide for them.  You’ll be rooting for Maya and her son, Kip throughout the movie.  You’ll also see lots of other types of animals throughout the movie.

Tina Fey does a great job narrating this movie.  She captures the audience and throws in some cute jokes as well.  Monkey Kingdom is the perfect family movie, especially any animal lovers.  It is a great movie for all ages.  There are 2 scenes where one of the other monkeys are killed by predators but it true Disney fashion nothing gruesome is shown.  It’s handled very well as to not upset young children, it’s a Disney movie after all.  My girls are very sensitive to things like that and I am sure that they’ll be ok with those parts of the movie when I take them hopefully this weekend.

See Monkey Kingdom opening week (April 17 – 23) and Disneynature will make a donation in your honor to protect monkeys and other endangered species in their natural habitats.

I have gotten together with several other bloggers to give away a very special necklace in honor of Monkey Kingdom.  We’re giving away an Alex Woo Little Activist Love Monkey in Sterling Silver.  It’s so adorable!  I sooooo want one of these necklaces.  Good luck!

Life is an adventure for Maya, the clever and resourceful blonde-bobbed monkey in “Monkey Kingdom,” Disneynature’s new feature film set among ancient ruins in the storied jungles of South Asia. Maya’s world is forever changed when she welcomes her son, Kip, into her complicated extended family. Like all families, Maya’s has more than its share of colorful personalities—and she’s determined to give her son a leg up in the world. When their longtime home at Castle Rock is taken over by powerful neighboring monkeys, Maya’s whole family is forced to relocate, and she uses her street smarts and ingenuity to lead them to untapped resources amidst strange new creatures and unsettling surroundings. Ultimately, they will all have to work together to reclaim Castle Rock, where Maya can hopefully realize her dreams for her son’s future.

With music from award-winning composer Harry Gregson-Williams (“The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” “Shrek” movies), Disneynature’s eighth True Life Adventure—the follow-up to 2014’s “Bears”—swings into theaters April 17, 2015.

MONKEY KINGDOM opens in theatres everywhere on April 17th! conservation internationalProjects support programs across Indonesia, Cambodia, and Sri Lanka. Conservation International will: 1) Protect monkeys and other endangered species 2) Save and restore forest habitats 3) Partner with and support local communities

Further activities in Sri Lanka, Cambodia and Indonesia will include researching, rescuing and rehabilitating monkeys, patrolling protected areas which serve as important habitats for monkeys and other species, planting trees and supporting community education and forest-friendly jobs.

Indonesia

Located just 80 km from the bustling city of Jakarta is a region known as Gedepahala. Gedepahala has some of the last remaining forests (135,000 ha) on the island of Java, Indonesia. It is an area rich in biodiversity and beauty, and home to a critically endangered monkey called the Javan gibbon. This area is also part of a watershed that helps to filter and provide a reliable flow of water to over 30 million people. Increased demand for forest resources has caused massive deforestation and degradation, endangering species and threatening vulnerable local communities who depend upon the forests’ resources and services for survival.

Cambodia

Unlike much of Southeast Asia, nearly 60 percent of Cambodia’s forests are still intact with plentiful shelter, food and fresh water. Its forests are home to many different types of monkeys, as well as hundreds of other species, but rapid deforestation and degradation of forest habitat requires fast action to protect these globally important species. Conservation International is working to protect 455,000 hectares of intact forest habitat in the Central Cardamom Mountains (400,000 ha) and Veun Sai (55,000 ha) regions, two critical habitats for the most threatened primate species. This work includes supporting teams of community and forest rangers to patrol forests, alert officials about illegal logging activity and explain to people why the forest needs to remain intact and why they should not hunt primates.

Sri Lanka

Located off the southern tip of India, the tropical island of Sri Lanka has attracted visitors for centuries with its natural beauty. It is currently experiencing rapid urbanization and expansion, which is destroying its forests. As a consequence all of its 12 primates and numerous other mammals, bird, reptiles and amphibians, all unique to the island, are increasingly threatened. Conservation International has been awarding small grants through its Primate Action Fund to stem the decline of the western purplefaced langur, considered one of the world’s 25 most endangered primates.

Disclosure- I received the item mentioned below to facilitate my post.  All opinions are 100% my own.

ozeri ultra wind fanWe recently had a professional organizer come to our house and help us get it organized and more functional.  (Keep an eye out for an upcoming post!)  One of the improvements is that now our garage is organized and we have turned the center of it into a laundry station since our washer and dryer are in the garage.  The only problem is that we live in South Florida and our garage is H-O-T!  I love the space we created but I was getting sweaty just folding and hanging a load of laundry.  I love the Ozeri 3X Tower Fan that I reviewed in December and use it every day.  I have that fan set up next to my desk and didn’t want to give it up for the garage.   I knew it I needed to reach out to my friends at Ozeri to review another one of their fans. They sent me the Ozeri Ultra Wind 42″ Adjustable Oscillating Tower Fan with Smart LCD and Remote Control.
ozeri fan unassembledThe fan was super simple to assemble.  It comes mostly assembled in the box.  I just had to screw on the optional extension column and the base.  Without the extension column the fan is 32 inches high and with the column the fan is 42 inches high.  In about 5 minutes I was ready to use my new fan.  The fan is powerful and really blows air across my garage.  I love that it has a remote control so I can adjust the settings from across my garage without having to get close to the fan.  I can be on the other end of my garage and the remote works perfectly.

ozeri 42 inch fanThe fan is sleek and would work well in any room of my house.  It has 3 whisper-quiet speed settings and 90 degree wide angle oscillation to really blow the air all around.  Even on the lowest speed it is pretty powerful but my favorite speed is the highest level.  There are 3 different mode settings to give you 3 different breeze patterns (Sleep, Nature, and Normal) foster sleep, relaxation and comfort.  Since I am using it in my garage I leave it in the normal setting but I’m thinking about getting another one for my bedroom so I can use it in one of the other settings to help me fall asleep.  I think the nature setting where it alternates between blowing hard and blowing soft and slowly, just like a real breeze, would be great to pair with a nature sounds CD or app to use when I am trying to fall asleep.  Hmmm, I might just have to steal the fan tonight and bring it upstairs for bedtime because using the nature setting with my nature sounds app on my cellphone sounds heavenly!

ozeri wind 42 inch fanThe fan has a 12 hour timer that you can set in 1 hour increments.  This would be great if you were using it in a bedroom or other room where you wanted to control how long the fan runs for.  I especially like that the fan shows the temperature in the room, too.  I’ve always wondered how hot my garage is so it’s nice to be able to have a visual display to let me know.  If you want the fan to blow in one area you can turn the oscillation off or you can turn the oscillation on and it will rotate to blow air around the room.

If you are using the Ozeri Ultra Wind 42″ Adjustable Oscillating Tower Fan in a bedroom there is a great night mode function where all icons on the LCD screen are dimmed except for the moon icon.  This is great when you’re trying to sleep so you aren’t kept up by the light from the fan LCD screen.

P1240231

P1240236Avery is lots of fun to play with.  My girls have fun playing with her in their standard doll size dollhouse and she fits well with all of the furniture and accessories they already have.

P1240239

P1240248Avery comes with removable clothes and her feet (shoes) are interchangeable with other Moxie Girlz.  One of our favorite things about this Moxie Girlz Doll is that you can pose her to sit and stand on her own without a doll stand.  This makes creative play so much more fun.  Click below to spin her around and see her from all sides!

Knitting on the knitting tool and on your fingers is so much fun.  It just takes a little patience and practice to learn.  When my 9 year old first tried she got frustrated after about a minute because she saw how easy it was for me.  I showed her the official how-to video from Moxie Girlz and she agreed to try it again.  Within 5 minutes she was giggling and LOVING finger knitting.  You can see the pure joy, excitement, and pride in her face in the pictures below and it was so heartwarming to see as her mom.
knittingP1240256My daughter was absolutely beaming once she figured it out!

P1240259Once she created her first scarf/necklace she decided that she would make them for all her friends and dolls.  She even asked if she could make a business and sell her creations!  So cute!

P1240258Avery comes with some yarn but I suggest getting some more yarn because the yarn included will go fast.  We have lots of yarn in our house so my girls are having so much fun knitting, knitting, knitting!
