My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks on Blu-ray 10/28

Disclosure- We received a copy of the title mentioned below to faciliatate our review.  All opinions are 100% our own.

My Little Pony Equestria Girls Rainbow Rocks3

In My Little Pony Equestria Girls, released in fall 2013, Twilight Sparkle’s crown was stolen from the Crystal Empire, and she pursued the thief, Sunset Shimmer, into an alternate world where she finds herself turned into…a teenage girl! To regain her crown and return to Equestria, Twilight had to learn how to fit into this strange, new world and defeat Sunset Shimmer in a competition to become crowned Princess of the Fall Formal at Canterlot High.

Now, the girls of Canterlot High are back, and this time they’re rocking guitars! In My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks, Canterlot High (CHS) is hosting a musical showcase, and Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, and Fluttershy are going to be performing with their new band, The Rainbooms. But when The Dazzlings, a new girl group, arrive at CHS and convince everyone to turn the friendly showcase into a Battle of the Bands, tensions mount between the competing musical acts. A now-reformed Sunset Shimmer realizes that The Dazzlings may not be ordinary girls and are after something far more sinister than just being named Best Band at Canterlot High. The Rainbooms call on Princess Twilight to restore harmony to their world to help them perform a musical counter-spell so that they can win a battle that now determines the fate of the entire school.

My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks is now in stores everywhere.

What we thought:
My girls were so upset when they missed seeing My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks in theaters so they were excited when we received a copy to review.  Both girls especially liked all of the music in this movie.  The songs are catchy and upbeat.  D’s favorite part was the end because they used magic. A’s favorite part is when the Dazzlings started singing in the cafeteria because she thinks their voices are pretty.  The movie has a great message about friendship.  It includes 8 animated shorts that are lots of fun.

Everyone loves getting 2 for the price of 1. At least I do anyway. That’s why I love Nickelodeon’s new Double Pack, Dora the Explorer “Musical School Days” & Blue’s Clues “Blue’s Big Movie”. Twice the action, music and twice the fun!
photo 1 copy 5

Having an almost 2 year old our DVD’s are getting quite worn out. She loves them so much. There are some days I have to actually hide the case and hope she doesn’t look for it. Dora’s Musical School Days contains 4 different episodes that are focused on fun songs and a musical theme. On the second DVD, Blue’s Big Musical Movie, Steve, Blue and all of their friends all put on a music show. This is a full length movie. I love watching Josephine dance around the living room while attempting to sing like a rock star.
photo 2 copy 4

This is just one of many DVD’s in her collection and yet it continues to be one her favorites. We are huge Dora fans in this house. I love that she is bilingual. It’s never too early to start learning and these DVD’s are perfect for getting your little ones ready for preschool.

photo 1 copy 4

All of the Nickelodeon DVD’s are great! Adding this double pack to our collection was great and I would recommend you do the same! With a running time of 98 minutes for Dora’s “Musical School Days” and 78 minutes on Blue’s Clues “Blue’s Big Musical Movie” you are sure to be a hero throwing this in on a rainy day.

I can’t believe my baby will be 2 next month. Time goes way to fast. The only good thing about watching her grow up is watching her get smarter by the day. I love all of the learning DVD’s by Nickelodeon, because they are so informational and fun! “Let’s Learn Colors” is one of my favorites.

photo 2 copy 4

I’m not one for letting my kids sit in front of the television for long periods of time while letting their brains turn into mush. I don’t have to worry about mushy brains with this interactive DVD. Full of bright colors, characters and songs there is never a dull moment. Plus she is learning awesome stuff for her age.

Just for the record I want to start off by saying I was an 80’s-90’s kid, and for a girl I LOVED watching TMNT! With all of the crime fighting action, pizza eating and ninja moves that were taking place who didn’t watch? When I found out they were back in action I was more than geeked up about it. Totally fell in love all over again. Plus I am so thankfully to be able to share some of my childhood with my girls.

If you are looking for a great animated series, this is for you! Nothing like adding a new twist on an old classic. Each episode is self-contained, but I like how they build upon a larger story with some continuous characters and elements. The action is well paced but also allows time for character moments. Best of all, the show is genuinely funny for both me and my kids. Great combination!
