Disclosure- I went on an all expense paid trip on behalf of Disney to cover the Blu-ray release of Tomorrowland and Aladdin as well as Disneyland’s 60th Anniversary. All opinions are my own.
Aladdin is one of those beautiful Disney movies that you can watch again and again. It is a true timeless classic. I was in college when it came out so unlike many of the other bloggers that were on the trip with me, I wasn’t a young child when it came out but I still love it just as much. I’m just a kid at heart. I have always been drawn to the music and of course the handsome Aladdin. I secretly wanted to be Jasmine. A girl can dream, right? I was so excited to have 2 daughters that I was able to share this movie with. We would sit on a towel on the floor and pretend that it was a magic carpet taking us anywhere we wanted to go. If only I had a magic carpet and a wish granting genie now! My 2 favorite songs in the movie are Friend Like Me because it really showcases Robin Williams as Genie and of course the beautiful A Whole New World which ironically I heard on the radio YESTERDAY! What is your favorite Aladding memory?
I am so glad that Aladdin is out of the vault so my girls and I can enjoy it again. We had it on VHS originally and now that we no longer have a working VCR, with the new BluRay we are able to watch it again. This new Diamond edition is much better quality than the old VHS tapes plus there is lots of bonus material including Genie Outtakes!

Did you know that Aladdin was voiced by Scott Weinger but his songs were sung by Brad Kane? I had no idea until recently. It’s amazing how much they sound alike and were able to sound like one character. Here’s Brad Kane discussing his experiences recording the memorable songs that we all know and love from Aladdin.
