BURBANK, Calif. (Jan. 22, 2014) – “Frozen” audiences are invited to join the act—literally—as more than 1000 theaters nationwide introduce an all-new sing-along version of Disney’s Oscar®-nominated, Golden Globe®-winning big-screen adventure beginning Jan. 31, 2014.
“‘Frozen’ fans have embraced the film’s original songs and its soundtrack with such passion—there are countless YouTube videos from people singing songs like ‘Let It Go’—we decided to create a version that would celebrate that enthusiasm,” said Dave Hollis, executive vice president, theatrical distribution, The Walt Disney Studios. “It’s a great opportunity for families to get together and have some fun with these songs.”
According to Hollis, on-screen lyrics and a magical bouncing snowflake will accompany select showings; moviegoers can check local listings for showtimes and theaters. The duration of the sing-along run will vary by theater.
Disney’s “Frozen” received two Oscar® nominations, including best animated feature and best original song (“Let It Go”). Named best animated film by more than a dozen critics associations, the film won a Golden Globe® for best animated feature, two Critics Choice Movie Awards, including best animated feature and best song (“Let It Go”), and a Producers Guild of America Award for outstanding animated feature.
In wide release since November 27, the film posted the No. 1 all-time Thanksgiving debut and the largest opening ever for a Walt Disney Animation Studios film. “Frozen,” WDAS’ 53rd feature film, has earned more than $773 million worldwide, including $337` million domestically. The film’s soundtrack was No. 1 in the Billboard top 200 for two straight weeks.
At Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre, the “Frozen” sing-along version includes on-stage appearances from the movie’s Elsa prior to each showing, plus snow flurries inside the theater. Showtimes are at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
On Digital HD & 3D Feb. 25 and Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD & On-Demand March 18, the in-home version of “Frozen” promises continued family fun with a blizzard of never-before-seen bonus extras to complement the film’s gorgeous animation, memorable characters and unforgettable music.

I loved playing with My Little Pony figures when I was a little girl and now my own daughters love playing with My Little Pony, too. I was excited to find out that a DVD was being released that features classic My Little Pony movies. There are ponies that I grew up with that my daughters hadn’t heard of before such as Minty so it was nice to be able to introduce them to some new ponies as well as watch some old favorites such as Pinkie Pie and Rarity, too. My Little Pony has changed so much over the years so it was fun to watch “an old school” version with my girls the way I remember the ponies. We all enjoyed watching all 4 movies that were included in this DVD collection but Runaway Rainbow is our favorite.
Four beloved My Little Pony films are returning to DVD January 21 in the U.S. and Canada when the My Little Pony: Classic Movie Collection is released by Shout! Factory Kids in collaboration with Hasbro Studios. The 2-disc set contains the films Princess Promenade, Runaway Rainbow, Dancing In The Clouds, and Friends Are Never Far Away.
In the highly popular Princess Promenade, Wysteria is beaming with pride! Her gardens are in bloom, her little Breezie friends are in town, and it’s time for Ponyville’s fanciest spring parade, the ultimate celebration of flowers! But things don’t go according to plan when Wysteria accidentally awakens Spike the Dragon, a sleepy, silly, 1,000-year-old dragon! For you see, legend holds that when a dragon is awakened, a new princess is about to be crowned! But who is the Princess of Ponyville?
If it’s all about rainbows it must be about Rainbow Dash. And it is. In Runaway Rainbow, Rainbow Dash loves the time of year when Ponyville and Breezie Blossom are all about celebrating rainbows. Meanwhile, in a new magical place called Unicornia, Rarity is being taught how to be a Unicorn Princess and the importance of making the first rainbow of the season. But Rarity embarks on an incredible ride that includes a magic wand, falling through the clouds right into the middle of Breezie Blossom, a visit to Ponyville, meeting Spike the Dragon, and a huge adventure as she tries to get back to Unicornia. She soon realizes that getting home in time to create the first rainbow of the season is not an easy thing to do – but it is fun!
In Dancing In The Clouds, the Friendship Ball is coming up, and Twinkle Twirl needs to come up with a special dance. A roller coaster ride with friends makes her feel like she’s “dancing in the clouds,” so Sky Wishes helps her make an extra special wish to come up with a dance to make everyone feel that way.
In Friends Are Never Far Away, good friends Sky Wishes and Starcatcher the Pegasus want all of their friends in Ponyville and Butterfly Island to meet. Pegasus ponies are very shy however, so the two plan a special party with music, games and a Pegasus-favorite, ice cream. The party planning doesn’t go so smoothly, but it’s quite an adventure!

Making heart ponytails is a lot easier than it looks. I did hairstyle for both of my daughters for their school dance and they received so many compliments. Some of the moms thought that I had taken them to a salon to get their hair done. I can’t even do French braids so if I can do this, anyone can. (Note~ I took pictures of the completed hair styles before we left for the dance but forgot to take step by step pictures. So when we got back from the dance I took the pictures as I took their hair down so it was neater when I first styled their hair.)
***I recommend having their hair slightly damp to keep it all in place without flyaways. My younger daughter had just gotten out of the shower and I had to dry her hair a little to make it easier to work with.
1. Start by making a regular ponytail.
2. Loosen the pony tail and pull it back up through the middle. Using a Topsy Tail tool would have helped but I just used a pointy comb and my fingers. You could also make your own tool if you wanted to. I would think a few pipe cleaners twisted together would do the trick in a pinch.
3. Separate the ponytail into 2 sections. Twist the right section towards the right and the left section towards the left. I had my daughter hold one section as I twisted the other section. Then secure the ends with a ponytail holder.
4. Flip the 2 parts up into the shape of a heart. You can use bobby pins to hold in place but I didn’t need to use them in my girls’ hair it stayed pretty well for the dance.
My younger daughter had 2 ponytails while my older daughter said she was too old for 2 ponytails and opted for a half up half down ponytail hairstyle.

It is sometimes so easy to slip into the same routines with your children. We’re so busy with work, after school activities, cooking, cleaning, taking care of a million and one things that we get on a treadmill of sorts and just go through the motions with our children daily without really being present and in the moment with them. How many times have you answered a question your child asked without really thinking about the question or the answer, just to tell them something so they would walk away so you could finish what you were doing? Most of us are guilty of this. It’s not that we don’t love and adore our children. We just have a lot on our plates and we forget to stop and think before we parent. Here’s a handy list I came up with to try to ask yourself each day to self-assess your parenting. It’s not to make you feel bad if you didn’t do everything on the list each day. No one is perfect parent. Even your friends who seem to be perfect parents on the outside. They screw up, too. We all do. Don’t punish yourself if you weren’t the parent you wanted to be today.
Print this list and use it as a daily reminder to help you be the best parent you can be.
