If You Had To Choose, What Would You Do?- A Book Review

I have recently been introduced to a wonderful author, Sandra McLeod Humphrey, and her award winning books.  Ms. McLeod Humphrey was kind enough to send me two of her books for my girls- If You Had To Choose, What Would You Do? and More If You Had to Choose, What Would You Do?  Both of these books won the American Authors Association Silver Quill Award.

Each of these books contains 25 short stories with various scenarios that ask what would you do questions at the end to teach children values and making responsible choices.  Some themes include loyalty, sportsmanship, teamwork, empathy, honesty, responsibility, perseverance, and more.  My daughters and I enjoy reading a few of these stories a night and then discussing what they would if they were in those situations.  I love that these books help open up a dialogue between my children and me about various topics such as stealing, lying, and more.  We look forward to these stories nightly and I love hearing the choices my children share with me.

If You Had To Choose, What Would You Do? is recommended for children 8-12 years old but I read it with my 5 and 7 year old daughters and it still sparked wonderful conversations between us.  More If You Had to Choose, What Would You Do? is listed for 7 year olds and up and again it worked wonderfully with my daughters.

Children can easily identify with the characters in these stories and they enjoy reading each situation to decide that they would do.  We all think we know what choices our children would make in a touch situation and we all hope they would make the correct choices.  These books help guide the conversation and lead to in-depth discussions about moral choices.  I HIGHLY recommend these books to any parent.

Bad Bananas: A StoryCookbook by Karl Beckstrand, is a silly picture book about a bunch of bananas as they start to become old and bruised.   As the banana characters try crazy stunts and start turf wars with veggies in the refrigerator, this book also features yummy low, sugar recipes for banana muffins, smoothies, pancakes, and more!  The lesson of the story is that even old bananas can be useful and made into something great.  This book provides hands on fun for families and is targeted for children ages 4-12.

My younger daughter said, “I just love it because it’s so funny!” and my older daughter said, “I like the end because the bad banana becomes good.”

Karl Beckstrand has written several other books including She Doesn’t Want the Worms and his newest book Crumbs on the Stairs which are both bilingual, written in English and Spanish.

If you preorder any hardcover book  ($14.95), you will receive a FREE hard covered Crumbs on the Stairs – Migas en las escaleras: A Mystery (bilingual version).  You can order all of his hard covered books from Premiobooks.

Happy Napper Product Review

Thank you for visiting Cori's Cozy Corner! Please make sure to like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter and subscribe to our E-mails!

From a comfy pillow to a snuggly friend, Happy Nappers are perfect for any child.  These adorable pillows are reversible and have a surprise friend inside.  My girls have wanted Happy Nappers since the first time they saw the commercials.  They were so excited to come home from school one day and find a Puppy Happy Napper waiting for them.

The Puppy Happy Napper starts off as a doghouse (complete with a button to push that sounds like snoring).  Unzip the doghouse, turn it inside out, and it turns into a huggable puppy.

There are 6 different styles of Happy Nappers right now- Palace/Castle, Dog/Doghouse, Penguin/Igloo, Cow/Barn, Ladybug/Bungalow,  Dragon/Castle.  Each one can be used as a plush friend during the day and a pillow at night.

I especially like that a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the Happy Nappers goes to the Home Sweet Home Fund benefiting the Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation.

Check out Happy Nappers and get your own today!

Nalgene Bottles- Product Review and Giveaway

Are you looking for a great bottle for your kids to take with them to school or sporting events?  What about a bottle for you to take with you to the gym?  I have been introduced to Nalgene Bottles and they are just amazing.

They are all made if Eastman Tritan copolyester that is manufactured without BPA which is important for me and my family.  There are 2 new models that I was able to try for myself- The On The Fly and The Multi-Drink.

On The Fly– The newest bottle from Nalgene, takes the OTG (on the go) bottle to the next level.  This bottle has one-handed push button operation so you can use it easily while working out or carrying items in your other hand.  I like how the top is a loop so I can slip my finger through and carry it.  It is leak proof, impact resistant, dishwasher safe, and taste and odor free.

The Multi-Drink– This new Nalgene leak-proof bottle features a loop top for chugging as well as a locking, pivoting straw mechanism for sipping.  I think this one is my favorite because you get the best of both worlds with it.  I like that I can flip out the straw with one hand if I want to and I can also use the screw top side to get more of my drink if I want.   It is leak proof, impact resistant, dishwasher safe, and taste and odor free.

I gave both bottles to my 7 year old daughter and once I explained how they opened, she was able to open and use both bottles with ease.  She is now begging me to let her take the Multi-Drink to school.  I just love a product that I want my kids to use and they beg me for it!!!

Both of these bottles are reasonably priced- $12.99 for the On The Fly and $14.99 for the Multi-Drink and you can purchase both and the other styles from Nalgene’s website.  PLUS right now they have FREE shipping on orders over $10!!!

Disclosure: I was not compensated for performing this review. I received a free product to try out and review.  The opinions and statements expressed by me in this post are my own personal and honest opinion of this product.

Nalgene  was generous enough to donate combo pack of 1 On The Fly and 1 Multi-Drink bottle for one luck winner!

Kidfresh- Product Review and Giveaway

Thank you for visiting Cori's Cozy Corner! Please make sure to like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter and subscribe to our E-mails!

I am so excited that I was selected by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Kidfresh to be a part of their Kidfresh blog tour.

I was given coupons to purchase Kidfresh frozen meals for my kids to try and I couldn’t be happier.  Normally frozen diners, even the ones specifically for kids, have tons of   chemicals and preserviatives.  Not Kidfresh.  Kidfresh has  no artificial ingredients, flavors, colors or preservatives.  They meet USDA and FDA federal requirements for “all-natural”.   So I feel good about giving these meals to my children.

When I went to my local grocery store to purchase the meals to review I was even more pleasantly surprised.  I knew that Kidfresh didn’t have preservatives but  upon reading the packaging I learned that they all have hidden veggies in it as well.

The Wagon Wheels Mac and Cheese has carrots blended into the cheese sauce for example, but my kids had no idea and gobbled it up.  I tasted it and it was yummy!  The cheese wasn’t like most other mac and cheese.  It was very cheese and even had cheese melted on top.  It tasted almost like it came from a restaurant.  I was very happy with this meal and so were my kids.

We also tried the Spaghetti Loops Bolognese which is a pasta dish with a meat sauce and lots of pureed veggies hidden in it.  Again, my kids had no idea and gobbled it up.

Want to know how good these meals are?  By the time I went to get my camera to take a picture of my kids’ eating their meals, they were GONE!!!  My kids were really hungry and just didn’t want to wait for mommy to get her camera ready!

We have 2 meals left and I will try to get picture to add when I make them for my children.

I love that when I need a quick meal for my kids I can turn to Kidfresh and know that it’s good for them and they will be getting their veggies in, too!

Right now Kidfresh is available at select Publix grocery stores in Florida or Georgia.  You can search for a store near you with the Kidfresh store locator.

Want to learn more about Kidfresh?  Check out the Kidfresh website and find them on Twitter, too!

They have Mac and CheesePasta BolognesePasta Meatballs, Rainbow Chicken and Rice, and Cheese Quesadilla!

Check out Kidfresh on Facebook and tell them Cori’s Coupon Corner sent you!  Even if you don’t live where they are currently selling Kidfresh, if you follow them on Facebook you can let them know you want it in your area!

Travalo Refillable Perfume Spray- Product Review

This post may contain affiliate links.
Thank you for visiting Cori's Cozy Corner! Please make sure to like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter and subscribe to our E-mails!

Travalo is a great new product that makes taking your favorite fragrance with you a breeze!

As soon as I saw Travalo I thought, “How cool!  I want one!”.

Travalo is a refillable perfume spray that is about the size of your finger.

It holds 50-65 sprays of perfume (depending on model), approved for hand luggage on aircrafts (4.0 mL), weighs about 0.5 oz, and has a clear window on the front to gauge level of perfume.

What makes this little wonder so amazing is that you don’t need to use funnels or any other gadgets to transfer your perfume from your big perfume bottle to the Travalo.

Just remove the plastic spray nozzle from your favorite perfume bottle, insert the  pump stick into the filling station on the bottom of the Travalo, and press down repeatedly to fill the Travalo.

It was so easy to use and transfer my perfume without making a mess.

No spills, no mess, no funnels, no worries!!!

And not only is it function, but the Travalo is pretty, too.  It comes in 3 sizes and many colors.  I just love the hot pink one I received.  I can take it anywhere.  It fits right in my purse, gym bag, or pocket so I can smell pretty where ever I go!

Travalo can be purchased on their website- Travalo– from $9.99-$19.99 depending on the size and style.

Travalo offers a lifetime warranty on their products.

Clear Skin IS Possible! Oxy Clinical Review and Giveaway

This post may contain affiliate links.
Thank you for visiting Cori's Cozy Corner! Please make sure to like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter and subscribe to our E-mails!

I was really beginning to think that I would never be able to get rid of the pimples and acne on my chin.  It seemed have gotten worse as I got older and it was getting quite frustrating.  I was excited to try out the new Oxy Clinical line of acne treatments.

I was sent an Oxy clinical facial wash,  clearing treatment, and a hydrating therapy treatment.

I was very surprised how easy the system was to use- just 3 steps- which is great for a busy mother!

I washed my face with the facial wash and used both the hydrating therapy and the clearing treatment twice a day for 3 days.

By the third day I was amazed that my blemishes were GONE!

I know that my case was not that severe so someone with a more severe case of acne would probably have to wait a little longer to see results but it does work.

I love that it didn’t dry out my skin like other products I have tried.

I was left with clear, smooth skin!

What is so amazing is that eliminates 99% of acne bacteria just 8 hours!

The face wash allows 25% more medication to remain on the skin longer, and the Hydrating Therapy is a 3-in-1 formula that hydrates, exfoliates and controls oil.

I am kicking myself because I completely forgot to take any before and after photos.

Here are some videos of other satisfied customers instead:
