the book of henry 3The Book of Henry looks like such an amazing movie. I’m really hoping to checking it out with my friends or perhaps a date night with my hubby this weekend.

Sometimes things are not always what they seem, especially in the small suburban town where the Carpenter family lives. Single suburban mother Susan Carpenter (Naomi Watts) works as a waitress at a diner, alongside feisty family friend Sheila (Sarah Silverman). Her younger son Peter (Jacob Tremblay) is a playful 8-year-old. Taking care of everyone and everything in his own unique way is Susan’s older son Henry (Jaeden Lieberher), age 11. Protector to his adoring younger brother and tireless supporter of his often self-doubting mother – and, through investments, of the family as a whole – Henry blazes through the days like a comet. Susan discovers that the family next door, which includes Henry’s kind classmate Christina (Maddie Ziegler), has a dangerous secret – and that Henry has devised a surprising plan to help. As his brainstormed rescue plan for Christina takes shape in thrilling ways, Susan finds herself at the center of it.

The Book of HenryThe Book of Henry is directed by Colin Trevorrow (Jurassic World, Safety Not Guaranteed) from an original screenplay by acclaimed novelist Gregg Hurwitz (Orphan X).

Starring Naomi Watts, Jaeden Lieberher, Jacob Tremblay, Sarah Silverman, Lee Pace, Maddie Ziegler, and Dean Norris

haunted-house-2

When I first saw A Haunted House, I knew I would be excited to see the sequel. Especially since the trailer looked so good. I must have watched it a dozen times and I was still laughing every time.

The Wayans brothers are the masterminds behind movies such as the Scary Movie franchise, White Chicks and Little Man. A Haunted House 2 is a lot like Scary Movie where they spoof popular horror movies in a comedic way. Hilarious!

haunted-house

A Haunted House 2 spoofs the films Sinister, The Conjuring, Paranormal Activity and The Possession. There is possibly another movie spoofed as well but I can’t think of the title. Thankfully, I’ve seen all the movies that A Haunted House 2 makes fun of. Which is a huge bonus. If you haven’t, it’s kind of hard to “get it”. Though still funny.

This movie is NOT a family movie. This is a date night movie or alight with your friends kind of movie since it’s filled with an abundance of sex (graphic), nudity, gross humor, drugs and alcohol. Just an FYI!

Overall, A Haunted House 2 is a very funny movie. Just have an open mind and a huge sense of humor.

A Haunted House 2 was released on DVD and Blu-ray on August 12, 2014. Go check it out!

I can’t believe my baby will be 2 next month. Time goes way to fast. The only good thing about watching her grow up is watching her get smarter by the day. I love all of the learning DVD’s by Nickelodeon, because they are so informational and fun! “Let’s Learn Colors” is one of my favorites.

I’m not one for letting my kids sit in front of the television for long periods of time while letting their brains turn into mush. I don’t have to worry about mushy brains with this interactive DVD. Full of bright colors, characters and songs there is never a dull moment. Plus she is learning awesome stuff for her age.
