Targus Rolling Laptop Case Product Review

You should have seen me trying to get through the airport and through the airplane to get to my seat on my last business trip.  I had a huge duffle bag filled with clothes and other items plus my laptop case.  I had the hardest time trying to get down the narrow airplane aisle to my seat with both bags on my shoulder.  I wish I would have this Targus 17.3” CityGear Travel Laptop Rolling Case that I was recently sent to try out.  It has a place for everything with lots of compartments.  There is a zipper compartment in front on the outside.
One of my favorite features is a hidden cup holder.  There is a small zipper compartment on one side.  Inside the compartment is a mesh cup holder with a drawstring closure.  I really could have used the cup holder on my last trip.  My hands were so full I had to throw my expensive cup of coffee away.

Let’s take a tour of the inside.   There is a pocket that can fit an eReader or 10” tablet device, a zip-down workstation with pen loops, business card holders and a zippered mesh pocket for additional accessory items.

The next compartment offers easy access to a laptop up to 17 inches with room to store other accessories.  There is also a zippered compartment in this section as well as ample padding and a section for your files.

The next section is my favorite.  What makes this laptop case so special is the overnight section that can hold a change of clothes or two.  This is perfect if you are only traveling for a few days and don’t want to spend a fortune to check your baggage.  If packed/folded carefully I could pack several outfits in this section.  There are also 2 pockets in this section to store undergarments and more.

There are 3 ways to carry this bag.  You can carry it on your shoulder with the long, padded shoulder straps, hold it by the shorter, padded handles on the top, or pull it on it’s smooth-rolling polyurethane wheels with it’s aluminum 3-tiered locking handle.  I love, love, love everything about this case and I am sure you will, too!!!  I can’t wait to go on my next business trip!

Dickies Womens Jacket Product Review

The jacket lining is beautifully quilted and includes an inner pocket.  You can see the quality in the stitching.  (Yes that is a palm tree in the background of my jacket picture.  LOL)

Pony Royale Princess Ponies are a new line of adorable ponies that will delight girls.  Each pony was born at the same moment as a baby princess and they both have matching royal birthstones.  There are 12 Princess Ponies, one for each month.  Each pony comes with extra interchangeable manes and tails so girls can mix and match to create new looks for their ponies.  In addition to changeable manes and tails, each pony also has a crown, skirt, saddle, blanket, and more so there are many different parts to mix and match with other ponies.  Each pony has an articulated head and can stand on it’s own for easy play.

Fashion Angel’s Tapeffiti Product Review

Here’s another fun arts and craft set that would make a great holiday gift.  Tapeffiti by Fashion Angels is a tape art kit that comes with fun mini rolls of tape that have lots of different patterns and designs.  You can decorate so many things with Tapeffiti.  We had so much fun creating lots of different projects.
I decorated a pen while my daughters decorated a bookmark and designed the cover that the Tapeffiti Kit came in.
I love that you can recycle things with Tapeffiti.  I cut the top off of a bottle of water, wrapped Tapeffiti, around it, and created a pencil holder.  You can turn trash to treasure.  Anything can get a new life and look beautiful when you use Tapeffiti to design it.  Wrap an old plastic fashion bracelet and make it look new.  What about creating a picture frame?  So many ideas!

My daughter had a project for school and needed to decorate a box.  Instead of painting or coloring,  she covered the entire lid with rows of Tapeffiti and it looked beautiful.  There really are so many uses for Tapeffiti and as a mom I love that it is a clean project that you really can take anywhere.  It’s great for car trips, too.

Color Rox Hair Chox Product Review

What little girl (or big girl) doesn’t like getting glammed up and adding some fun colors to their hair?  We found Color Rox Hair Chox by Fashion Angels and it’s been so much fun.  Color Rox Hair Chox are temporary hair color “chox”.

They have easy to hold grips that keep your hands clean.  My girls were able to use them by themselves so it’s easy for children.  Simply section off part of your hair and rub the chox through your hair.  It’s almost like using the side of a crayon to color.  Go as basic or as bold as you want.  Don’t worry, it washes out the next time you shampoo.  My girls had fun experimenting with different colors.  Color your hair in your school colors or for your favorite team.

Our set also included beads, a plastic threader, and colorful rubber bands to add beads to their hair.  Again even my 6 year old was able to thread the beads onto her hair.  Overall it was lots of fun.  Much easier than any other temporary hair color that we’ve tried.

Gelarti Product Review and Giveaway

My girls were so excited when we received 2 packages of Gelarti to review- a mermaid ocean scene pack and a forest creatures scene pack.  We love doing art in our house so this was perfect.  Gelarti are fun paint and decorate peel off stickers.  Each sticker is made up of a raised black outline.  Use the gel paint pen to color inside the sticker.  You can choose one color per section or you can swirl and marble several colors together.  Allow your creations to dry for 6 hours and then it’s time to decorate.  
You can put Gelarti on any smooth surface.  My girls put theirs on the window to look like stained glass.  They also created scenes all over their bedroom doors.  I didn’t mind because they peel right off and can be stuck somewhere else without damaging their doors.

Gelarti can be put on so many surfaces such as computers, cellphones, books, notebooks, fishtanks, boxes, and so much more!  I love that Gelarti is not a messy project.  My girls were able to paint their Gelarti stickers with little mess which is saying a lot for my girls. 😉
We love it so much that we’ve already bought another larger set that includes even more stickers and gel paint colors.

5 Ingredients: Chocolate Turkey Recipe, Super Cute!

5 Ingredient Turkey
(the chocolate kind)
You can make this super cute and easy turkeys for your upcoming feast

What you will need:

Frosting
(should probably use chocolate, too bad we realized after…)
M&M’s
Whoppers
Licorice
Flat Cookies

Follow these pictures step by step and you will have a cute little turkey that’s not only super cute to look at,
but tastes amazing also

Add about a dime size of frosting to outer edge of bottom cookie, place 2nd cookie on top making a “L” shape

Put about the same amount of frosting on the largest flat part of the Mini Reese Cup and attach it to the vertical cooking allowing it to rest on the platform cookie

Next put a small amount of frosting onto the “head” aka the Whopper and set it onto the Reese, making sure it’s secure to the cookie as well

This is when you attach the “feet” the orange M&M’s and then decorate the back feathers any way you would like

For the face we chopped a M&M in 1/4 and attached to the “head” with frosting. To get only a small amount of frosting, we put it into a sandwich baggie and cut a tiny piece of the corner off. Decorate the face as you please and the use a small pice of Pull n’ Peel Licorice to top it off!


My awesome assistant 🙂 !! See it’s so easy even the kids can do it!
And viola! There is a chocolate turkey!!

CLUB PENGUIN RECRUITS SECRET AGENT PENGUINS TO PROTECT THE ISLAND FROM DESTRUCTION

My girls love playing on Club Penguin.  Have your kids played on this virtual snowy world?
Most of the time Club Penguin, the #1 free-to-play virtual world for kids, is a peaceful place where kids stretch their imaginations, explore the snow-covered island and interact with friends as penguins. But this month Herbert P. Bear, the notorious villain of Club Penguin, is threatening the serenity of the Island by vowing to redirect all the sunlight from Club Penguin to his own tropical headquarters and cause a blackout!

The Island of Club Penguin is under attack from notorious villain, Herbert P. Bear, and it is up to players to enlist as secret agents and save the Island before it is too late. Club Penguin’s #1 enemy has built a solar laser that redirects all sunlight to his headquarters on the Island, Club Herbert. As the sunlight is taken away from Club Penguin, the Island will become darker and colder eventually resulting in a blackout, unless the ‘Elite Penguin Force’ (EPF) secret agents can stop Herbert’s plans. Players will have the chance to confront Herbert for the first time, gear up with new high-tech spy gear and infiltrate the enemy fortress to destroy the solar laser and save the Island.

Rumors of Herbert’s plans first leaked when EPF agents discovered that he had set up the web domain ClubHerbert.com and created a Twitter account, @ClubHerbert, where he began announcing plans of his world domination. Herbert has since rapidly accelerated his schemes, capturing top EPF Agent G and blowing up the EPF headquarters.

Penguins that choose to accept the mission of saving the Island can:

·         Earn special ‘Elite Penguin Force’ assignments

·         Collect spy gear like plasma lasers and anti-lava boots to help infiltrate Herbert’s fortress

·         Explore the all new ‘Secret HQ’

·         Members can become masters of disguise and dress up like Herbert to sneak into his headquarters

·         Members can also buy the latest spy-inspired gadgets like the Capture Equipment, which allows penguins to throw nets to trap enemies.

Herbert’s attack comes just days after the popular Halloween Party, which led to the highest trafficked day of the year in Club Penguin. Penguins celebrated Halloween together from 217 different countries and spent more than 13 million hours dressing up in costumes and trick-or-treating their way through Club Penguin’s nine-room haunted mansion.

Lincoln Movie Review- In Theaters Now! #Lincoln #DisneyMoviesEvent

Lincoln was such an amazing movie that I really hope my review of it will do it justice.  Just look at the picture above of Daniel Day Lewis as Abraham Lincoln with the smaller picture of the real Abraham Lincoln in the corner.  It is absolutely incredible just how Daniel Day Lewis looked and acted like Abraham Lincoln.  Ok, so maybe I don’t know what Lincoln acted and sounded like but he was portrayed exactly how I thought he would have been in real life.  From the opening scene of the movie I was hooked!

I will admit I don’t usually like movies that are historical like this.  I don’t watch war movies.  I don’t watch political movies.  Give me a good comedy or romance and I’m there.  When I originally heard about this movie I really wasn’t interested.  And I am embarrassed to admit how little I knew about the actual historical events in Lincoln’s life.   But Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln is a more than a historical movie.  It is a piece of cinematic genius.  It’s not often that you know the ending of a movie before it even starts and yet you are on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next.  Lincoln isn’t about all of President Lincoln’s life.  It focuses on a period of only a few months when Abraham Lincoln was trying to get the 13th amendment passed to end slavery.  We all know what happens- there were enough votes and the 13th amendment passes.  But I spent the whole movie on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was going to happen, wondering if they were going to get enough votes.  That’s how good of a movie it is!

I saw Lincoln when I was on my LA trip a few months ago and was instantly drawn into the movie.  There aren’t many movies that I like to see more than once.  I’m just not that type.  But I was so excited to have the opportunity to see Lincoln again recently at a local screening.  It was even better the second time!
I feel in love with the “characters” and the “story”.  Daniel Day Lewis’s portrayal of Abraham Lincoln made me wish that Lincoln was alive today.  He was just so well spoken and beloved.  As serious as the subject was, there were also many witty lines that made me smile and laugh.

Sally Field also gave an incredible performance as Mary Todd Lincoln.  She showed the raw emotions of a mother who had lost her child and the strength of  a woman married to the President of the United States.

My favorite scene in the movie was probably the most simple yet powerful one.  Abraham Lincoln is sitting in the window in a tender moment reading with his son, showing his softer side.  It is such a beautiful, touching moment in the middle of all the craziness of the voting and the war.

I truly recommend this movie to all adults, even if you think you don’t like these types of movies.

I am sure grateful that I was given this opportunity to open my mind to other movie genres.  Due to the subject matter, slang terms used back in the 1800’s, and some graphic war scenes I suggest only bringing older children.

Moshi Monsters Bobble Bots Product Review

When I told my daughters that we were going to receive a Moshi Monsters Bobble Bots Moshi House I didn’t anticipate just how excited they would be.  I will admit that I don’t know much about Moshi Monsters.  I know my kids love playing with them online in their online world but I don’t know all their names, etc.  My kids on the other hand know all about them.  As soon as we took the toy out of the package my daughter let me know that one of the flowers is a mystery flower (whatever that is! LOL).

My girls immediately opened the package and began to put the house scene together.  It was very easy for them to snap the pieces together into different configurations.  I think their favorite part was turning on the cute little Bobble Bot and letting him go.  The set kept my daughter’s interest for a while.  They took it apart several times, changed the house, and made the base in different shapes.  All of the garden shapes were fun to move around.  While I have 2 daughters I think this would be great for boys as well.

The set comes with a  special codes to use online on the Moshi Monsters Website and my girls were quite excited about that.  It’s great that one of my girls can be playing with the set while the other one can be playing online on the Moshi Monsters website using the special code.
My girls are already asking me to purchase other sets for them so they can connect the sets and create one big town.  The pieces are high quality and withstood my two girls pulling it apart multiple times without breaking.
