Dietary supplements, such as the vitamin B sup...

Dietary supplements, such as the vitamin B supplement show above, are typically sold in pill form. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

I have been having a lot of medical issues over the past few years.  I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia a few years ago and I have struggled with debilitating exhaustion for years.  I switched primary doctors recently and I found one I really like.  She is really trying to get to the root of my problems and help me feel better.  I’ll be posting more on that in upcoming posts.  But here’s my A-ha moment.  I have been taking a multivitamin for years.  I always take it at bedtime because that is when I remember to take it.  I also take my pills for fibromyalgia at that time and either melatonin or a sleeping pill most nights.  That’s when it dawned on me- my multivitamins have lots of B vitamins which help give me energy.  I’m taking them before bed when I want to sleep and then counteracting them with the melatonin or sleeping pills.  DUH!!!!  Why did this dawn on me before?!?!?  I switched up my whole vitamin and prescription medication daily schedule so now I am taking things during the day and not at night.  What a difference!

My Tip For You:
If you want to sleep well, DON’T take a multivitamin with B Vitamins at bedtime!
