nanoblocks Microsized Building Blocks Shark and Tower Bridge Review #CoriReviews

Disclosure- We received 2 nanoblocks sets to facilitate our review.  All opinions are 100% our own.

nanoblocks

Created by the same company that brought you the Etch-A-Sketch, Nanoblock is a micro-sized building block system. It’s smallest piece is just a mere 4mmX4mmX5mm. Challenge your kids big with tiny little building blocks! Nanoblock offers a huge selection of different sets in different sizes, each designed for children age 8 and above. They have something for everyone, even Hello Kitty (which are adorable)!

nanoblocks tower bridge3How cute is the little boat?!?!?

We were given a Shark and the Tower Bridge to check out. Each design has a level from 1 to 5 for difficulty. Both of these were a 3. The instructions are pretty easy to follow and have a good flow. I did have to help my girls put these together, but that was fine with me. I enjoyed some quiet time with them while doing something that gave them a challenge to focus on.  They look like other plastic building bricks but they are much smaller. The recommend age is 8+.  My girls (8 and 10) both needed my help with these and we even had to ask Daddy for help on one part, but it is a great family activity.  My girls have been able to complete level 1 and level 2 projects on their own and I am sure with a little more practice they’ll be completing these higher level projects on their own, too.
nanoblock tower bridge
I’m a big supporter of building blocks because of the hand-eye coordinating. It’s so good for kids to follow instructions, plus some math skills are gained. Each model is super detailed and just the right size to keep on display like on a nightstand or dresser. My kids were proud of their work and wanted to show them off. nanobocks tower bridge2If you have been looking for a new hobby for your kids that will  keep them busy  and learning, nanoblocks is the way to go.  I saw a huge selection at both Target and Barnes & Nobles. These would make a super cute stocking stuffer idea. I think your kids will love building them as much as mine did.

How to Make an Adjustable Knot Pippin Friendship Charm Bracelet

Disclaimer- We received the product mentioned below to facilitate our review.  All opinions are 100% our own.pippin friendship bracelet kit

I have 2 girly girls who love doing crafts, especially making jewelry.  They were so excited to receive a Pippin Friendship Charm Bracelet Kit.  Normally I try to get pictures of our review items BEFORE I let my girls open them and get started but in this case I just wasn’t fast enough!  We were invited to a friend’s house for dinner the other night and so we decided to bring the Friendship Charm Bracelet Kit with us for the girls to do with their friend.  Before I had a chance to take any pictures the package was opened and the girls were making bracelets which is a good thing!  They were so exited to create these fun bracelets with their friend.

So what’s in the kit?

  • 6 pieces of cord in six bright colors
  • 6 funky shaped charms
  • beads and rings
  • keepsake can
  • instructions

The charms, beads, and rings that are included in the kit are all stylish and trendy.  The 3 girls are 8 and 10 years old and were all able to easily make the bracelets themselves.  Like I said, they dug right into the kit right away by themselves and were able to make adorable jewelry without any help from me except when it came time to tie them.  They were able to make a regular knot but needed me to make the sliding knots that make the bracelets adjustable.  The kit comes with instructions to make things even easier.  They have a suggested age of 6+.  Younger girls might need a little more help but overall it is pretty easy.  All you need to do is choose which cute charms and beads to use, slide them on the cord you chose, tie the knots and you’re done.  You can choose to either keep them for yourself or share them with your friends.   All the pieces come in a trendy can which you can use afterwards to keep your finished bracelets in or anything else you like.  My girls are already asking when we can order more kits.  Pippin has tons of different jewelry making kits including larger party kits for larger group of girls so check them out.  Jewelry making is a fun party activity, too.

EZ Paint- The Mess Free, Fun Way To Paint

Disclosure- I received samples of the product(s) mentioned below to facilitate my review but all opinions are 100% my own.
ez paint3
Do your kids like to craft and paint but you don’t like the mess that is usually involved?  If so, I have the product for you.  EZ Paint looks like it would be a bottle of nail polish but it is non-toxic, washable paint that is so easy to use.  It comes with the brush right in the bottle so there is no set up.  No need to have a cup of water to rinse the brushes.  Just open the bottle and paint.  Plus EZ Paint is clean, too.  If you accidentally knock over the bottle it doesn’t spill.  Yes, I said it DOESN’T SPILL!!!  Now of course if you turn it upside down some of the paint will spill out but most of the mess from paint is when it gets accidentally knocked over.  No worry about that with EZ Paint.
ez paint4
EZ Paint comes in several different size packages that each include various colors of paint as well as adorable designed pages to paint.  My girls (and I) had such a good time painting our designs. If you run out of designs before you run out of paint you can also order more design pages.
ez paint
Normally you can’t bring paint to play with to a doctor’s waiting area but with EZ Paint, you can take the paint with you.  My girls had an appointment and I decided to take EZ Paint with us to keep them busy while we waited.  The only “mess” was having to wait a few minutes for the the “wet” pictures to dry so we could take them home with us but they really dried pretty quickly so even that wasn’t a real “mess”.  Look at all of our beautiful creations: ez paint2

The gumball machine painting below is mine.  I have to say that it was quite therapeutic and relaxing to paint with EZ Paint.  It really is good for ages 3 to 103!
