Looking for a healthier alternative to sugary sodas or diet sodas that are full of chemicals? I have cut out artificial sweetener from my diet and replaced the sweetener in my coffee with stevia (a natural sweetener made from the stevia leaf). But I was missing something….soda. I sometimes drink favored seltzer but it lacks flavor. Then I found Zevia. Zevia is a calorie free soda with no artificial sweeteners. It is make with stevia so it doesn’t raise blood sugar levels and it doesn’t contain chemicals like other diet sodas. Finally the answer to my soda prayers!
Zevia comes in many different flavors including ones similar to all your favorite soda varieties. I was sent cream soda, cherry cola, ginger root beer, ginger ale, grape, and grapefruit citrus to try. I will say that I am a diet soda drinker so I am used to the taste of diet sodas. My experience with Zevia may be different than someone who drinks regular soda normally but I really enjoyed all the flavors. I will say that the directions say to drink it as cold as possible which is what I did. My favorite was cherry cola but the ginger root bear and cream soda were a close second and third. I found the flavors flavorful without being too overpowering. They are definitely a great alternative to diet sodas with chemicals. I am happy that I can once again enjoy a can of soda with my dinner.
I was amazed to find out that Zevia even has recipe section on their site with ideas on using Zevia in creative recipes! I checked the Zevia finder and found out that several stores in my area sell Zevia. I can’t wait to try more flavors.
