The perfect opportunity for parents and kids to get active and have their health checked, all while having fun and winning prizes, the Orange Bowl is hosting the first-ever Orange Bowl Health & Wellness Fair presented by Sunshine State Health Plan, Saturday, April 6 at Sun Life Stadium (details below).

The Orange Bowl Health & Wellness Fair will challenge attendees to the “One Million Step Challenge,” a fitness initiative designed to emphasize the importance of exercise with a goal of reaching a total of one million steps during the event – with the first 300 attendees to reach 3,000 steps to receive a complimentary gift.

More than 50 Exhibitors to Offer Health Screenings, Seminars and Prizes for
Local Kids and Adults at Sun Life Stadium

WHAT:           On Saturday, April 6, South Floridians will be put to the test during the Orange Bowl Health & Wellness Fair presented by Sunshine State Health Plan at Sun Life Stadium.  During the free event, which runs from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., each attendee will have the chance to participate in the “One Million Step Challenge,” a fitness initiative designed to emphasize the importance of exercise.

                        Given a pedometer upon entry, kids and adults can visit more than 50 exhibitors that will be spread throughout the Gate G Plaza, and 100 and 200 levels of Sun Life Stadium.  As they visit each area, their steps will be tracked, with the first 300 attendees to reach 3,000 steps receiving a complimentary gift – all in hopes of reaching the event goal of one million total steps.

The event will feature health screenings – including dental, glucose, blood pressure, vision and spinal exams – along with health and wellness education seminars, and interactive experiences. Additionally, free CPR classes provided by One Beat CPR will be available throughout the day.

The Orange Bowl Health & Wellness Fair presented by Sunshine State Health Plan is part of the Orange Bowl’s mission to engage the South Florida community and inspire its youth. As one in five children are overweight and uninsured, this event will help educate the community on the importance of maintain a healthy lifestyle, provide awareness of various medical conditions and health and wellness services available.
