Disclosure- I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for CWIST.  I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

I was looking for a way to encourage my children to give to other children in need and I came across CWIST.  CWIST means kids’ challenges with a twist.  It is an interactive library of educations, community service and outdoor challenges that help kids make the connection between the things they want and what it takes to get them.  I really wanted to reinforce to my children that in order to receive what you want in life, you need to work for it to earn it.  With CWIST children choose what wish or reward they want and parents assign a CWIST for the child to complete to earn their reward.  This holiday season CWIST also has a Kids CWIST For Kids program which is what hooked me on CWIST.  Kids can do CWISTs and instead of earning wishes and rewards for themselves, they are earn wishes for children in need.  CWIST is donating up to $2,000 worth of toys and wishes for children in need.

 CWIST wishes
With the Kids CWIST For Kids program my girls were able to look through all the children’s wishes and choose which one they wanted to grant by doing a CWIST.  They were able to choose a boy or a girl, the age of the child, etc. so it made it even more meaningful and easier for them to relate to working hard on a CWIST to earn for a child like them.  My younger daughter chose a girl her own age who wanted a doll.  She completed a CWIST about making homemade butter and when her CWIST was completed, CWIST donated the doll we choose to the girl we selected.  My girls and I gave to other people in need this holiday season, too, but the CWIST program was the most fun.  There is still time to get your kids involved in the Kids CWIST For Kids program and earn toys to donate to kids in need.  Get more info on the Kids CWIST For Kids program.

We will be using CWIST throughout the year when my girls want to earn rewards.  They don’t have to be rewards that cost money either.  We have plenty of toys and games in our house so my girls will be earning things like books, an outing to the movies, alone time with Mommy or Daddy, etc.  They can choose anything as a CWIST reward.  The CWIST platform is easy use.  Add your children and assign CWISTs and wishes.  When your kids log on they will see the CWISTs they needs to work on.  There are several different categories of CWISTs to choose from such as creating, family, community, sports, physical activity, and more.  Each CWIST give the directions, supplies needed (if there are any), and has questions for the child to complete.  Once they complete the CWIST and the questions, when the parent logs in they will see that the CWIST was completed and they can grant the wish.  Some current CWISTs including learning about setting a table, learning about trees, and even making a snowglobe.  You can choose from CWIST that are on the list or make your own CWIST.
