Thank you so much Carol from Ooingle for completing this review for me because I didn’t have a compatible camera.  I am so bummed because LightScoop looks like a great product!

I have had a Canon EOS Rebel T3 DSLR for 2 yrs, I have always wanted to upgrade my equipment and add some flashes to what I have. When I was given the opportunity to review the LightScoop Deluxe I had high hopes this might help me in a much affordable way of disbursing light indoors.

My hopes were met and exceeded with this small attachment. It has a Hot Shoe attachment that stay on your camera for quick attachment and detaching. The actual arm that extends from the hot show through your on camera flash and holds the mirror is super easy to attach and remove as needed.

The recommended settings are Manual Exposure Mode, ISO 800, the widest aperture your lens can go to, shutter speed 1/200 or higher, flash exposure Compensation +1 or +2, no red eye reduction, slow sync for Flash.

All settings are best to experiment with though. I have noticed you can not go to wrong with your settings to appreciate the lack of harsh shadows in your photos. I typically was using the following settings and loved the outcome. f/5, 1/60, ISO 800 with my Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Type II Lens.

I tried the LightScoop Deluxe in different rooms around my house as we have different height ceilings, our living room has cathedral ceilings and the lighting ended up not as bright on my subject but still kept from having the harsh background shadow. In the normal ceiling height rooms the results were very bright and I felt like I had just taken a picture with multiple flashes going off.

At my office with florescent lighting above as you can see still resulted in the overall look of the room and myself brighter than with just direct flash or nothing at all.

If you are looking for a way to make your photos appear as if you have multiple flashes without the Huge Flash expense this is a very nice alternative for a much more appealing price tag for those of us that are not complete pros but want some Pro results 🙂
