last airbender korra dvdDo you have a Last Airbender fan at home?  My 8 year old son loves the TV show featuring Aang, Katara, and Sokka.  I’m pretty sure he has seen each of the episodes at least four or five times and practically has them memorized.  When we heard that a new series, The Legend of Korra – Book One: Air,was picking up where the last one left off, we were excited!

Korra is a 17 year old girl from the Southern Water Tribe.  Like Aang, she is learning to hone her skills and also struggling with overcoming her impulsiveness and knowing when to use her powers.  While Korra is a wonderful model for girls who love to watch animated action shows, her appeal does not stop there. My son LOVED watching The Legend of Korra and never once complained that the main character was a girl. (That says a lot as he is a bit anti-girl at the moment.)

Anyone will enjoy The Legend of Korra, regardless of whether or not they have seen the first series as there is virtually no overlap.  The videos total to 289 minutes, so your Last Airbender fan will have plenty of viewing enjoyment!  (We viewed ours on a road trip and my son was anxious to get back on the road after each break so he could continue watching.)

The Legend of Korra – Book One: Air is available at in both DVD and Blu-ray.

I was provided a copy of The Legend of Korra for review. All opinions expressed are my own.
