settee-147701_1280There was a time that staying in was seen as the loser’s choice. If your friends were out partying and you were stuck at home on the sofa it was a matter of shame. Maybe times have changed, or maybe we’ve just stopped caring what other people think. In either case, staying in isn’t shameful anymore.

Why spend hours trying to get served at the bar or waiting in the queue for a club, when you can curl up under a cozy blanket with your favourite Frozen DVD? Staying at home on the weekend is stress-free and will get you nice and rested for the week to come. It will also save you an absolute bundle, meaning that when you do want to go out you can do it in style.

The fact remains though, that staying in sounds more predictable than going out. But we’re here to show you that there are just as many things to do at home as there are out on the town.

Here are a few of our top tips for staying in this winter.

It’s all about the TV

With on demand services and movies online, TV is back in style. No longer do you have to sit through the hundreds of adverts and credits before seeing your favorite movie or TV series. It’s all at the tip of your fingers now.

Think about investing in one of these services. They often cost less per month than a round of drinks at your local bar would, so it’s not even that expensive when you think about it.

Social Video Games

So many consoles have the option to play online nowadays. And with this comes a very social aspect to video gaming. It used to be that video games were played very much alone, but now you can connect with your friends from your separate homes. This will give you the best of both worlds as you enjoy a group activity without having to reserve a table at your local bar. You can also meet and make new friends like you would on any night out. Similar to video and TV services you won’t need to pay that much for a service like this.

Craft Night

Have a few friends over for a craft night. The money you would have shamefully spent on shots at the club can be spent instead on a few good bottles of wine and some craft supplies. Get in your PJs and relax with whatever craft set you like. They’re all available online at a relatively low cost, so you won’t even have to spend hours traipsing around the high street for ideas. This is a fantastic way of preserving the sense of a group get-together with a few cheeky drinks without going for a massive blowout at great expense.

So there you have it. Staying in doesn’t have to be the end of the world. You can have fun together in loads of different ways without it costing the world.
