Personally, I like my home to be comfortable. Otherwise, I don’t see it as a home, but more of a house because houses are colder and less cosy. When I come home from work, I don’t want to try and relax in any empty shell of a house. I prefer to sit back and relax in the most comfortable environment I can create. The way I do that is through a couple of simple home furnishings that ooze comfort. Take a look and see if you agree.

Corner Sofa

I like any sofa as long as it is comfortable. At the minute, however, I love the corner sofa. Whoever came up with this idea is an absolute genius. Not only can you maximise space in your living room, but you can also stretch out and relax with more than one person on the sofa. Conventional sofas are not big enough for two people to lay full out, but the corner part of the sofa is made with that in mind.

Wool Blanket

Normally, I don’t go near wool. At the minute, because of summer, wool is not a material that is going to do you many favours in the hot weather. Still, it gets a little cold at night once the sun goes down, so you need something to keep you warm. Wool absorbs your body heat to keep you nice and toasty warm. Just as importantly, wool is a lovely material to snugly into while you relax and do whatever it is you do when you relax.

Hard Bed

I like a hard bed because it is better for my back. Okay, maybe you cannot just sink into the mattress after a hard day, but you have to think about the bigger picture. Most soft beds are not good for you while you sleep because they promote back pain. A hard bed is different because it supports your body weight while you sleep. Give me a hard bed over a soft bed any day of the week.

Goose Down Pillows

Is there a more comfortable combination than a bed and pillow combo? You cannot have a bed without a couple of pillows to rest your head. Still, you have to pick the right pillows, just like you have to pick the right mattress. I like the goose down option because they feel the most comfortable. However, there are plenty of options to choose from and most pillows stuffed with feathers are a good decision.

Throw Pillows

Don’t let your boyfriend tell you that throw pillows are purely decorative because they are not! Let me explain. I have throw pillows on my sofa, and they are worth their weight in gold as a way to support my back. Even on the bed, you can use throw cushions as extra pillows to make sleeping more comfortable.
