This year is flying by, isn’t it? It’s hard to believe it’s nearly the end of February already. You might have started to notice all the spring plants beginning to emerge. Of course, with the weird weather that’s happening at the moment, many of the plants that wouldn’t be seen for a month or two yet are out already. So if it’s practically spring, that can only mean one thing. Summer is just around the corner! You might think it’s too soon to be thinking about warmer weather, but it’ll be here before you know it.

If you’ve been wrapped up in winter woolies for months, the chances are you need a little bit of beautifying. Here’s how to get your body beach-ready for summer!

Change Your Thinking

Don’t think “diet,” think healthy eating and a change of lifestyle. Quick fix diets are no good. Yeah sure, you may lose a considerable amount of weight in a short space of time. Yes, it will give you a boost, and you’ll look better in a bikini. That’s true. But you can almost guarantee that you’ll put most, if not all of it, back on in no time. Fad diets don’t last. They don’t work in the long term. The best way to lose weight and keep it off is to do it slowly. Giving your skin a chance to catch up with fat loss means you are less likely to be left with excess saggy skin when you lose weight.

Fake it!

If you love a tan and want a healthy glow, hopefully, you’re faking it. Exposing your skin to the sun to get a tan is so out of date! Fake tans have moved on from the smelly, streaky formulas of yesteryear. Don’t risk premature aging, sunburn or skin cancer. The best way to prepare your skin for a tan is to exfoliate, exfoliate, and exfoliate some more. Making sure you’ve got no dead skin cells sitting on the top layer of your skin will ensure an even application with no streaks or patches!

Lovely Legs.

Worried about your pins out in the sunshine? So many people worry about showing off their legs in the summer. Why? Cellulite. This unsightly condition makes many women recoil in horror should someone suggest wearing shirts. Sadly, you can never get rid of it altogether, but there are many things you can do to reduce the effects and the appearance. There are lots of products on the market for reducing cellulite, but the Revitol reviews here suggest they may have some of the best skincare products around!

Best Foot Forward

After a winter tucked away in boots, are your feet ready for the summer? Hard skin, callouses, and neglected nails do not make for sweet summer feet! Think about sandals and flip flops. It may be time to run for a pedicure. Nobody wants to be embarrassed by their feet. If your tootsies need treating, now is a perfect time for a pedicure.

Toning up – think about it!

If you want to tone up before setting foot on the sand, don’t think that a whole load of crunches will fix that jelly belly. You need to exercise all of your body, not just the middle! Doing too many crunches and nothing else will shorten our middle section at the front. This can lead to problems with your posture. Swimming or running are great ways to tone up and improve your posture.

If you start now, you can be beach-ready in plenty of time for summer! You’ll be full of energy, looking good, and feeling great!

Treat Breakouts Right: Top Tips For Dealing With Acne

Suffering from breakouts after leaving your teens behind can be downright depressing. Why did no one ever say that acne isn’t just a teenage thing? Breaking out in spots as an adult can be embarrassing and upsetting, and can give your confidence a real knock. It’s easy to feel self-conscious when you’re skin’s spotty, but there’s no need to get upset as adult acne is incredibly common. (Two in five people suffer from adult acne – that’s 40 percent of the population.)

maxresdefaultPicture link

It might be irritating and upsetting to have breakouts in your twenties but the good news is getting shot of them for good isn’t difficult. It’s just a case of making a few beauty and lifestyle changes, and your skin will be a lot less prone to spots. The only problem is that there are so many myths out there about the best ways to achieve spot-free skin that it can be hard to know what to believe. Luckily for you, I’ve put together this guide to help you get shot of those spots once and for all.

Start with lifestyle changes

3604928038_4e76a107bb_zImage credit: Flickr

The most common cause of adult acne in women is smoking. So if you smoke, you need to take the steps to quit. It might not be easy – cigarettes are addictive after all, but if you want clear skin, it’s what you have to do. While it’s best to quit altogether, if that’s not an option, switch to vaping. (Your skin will clear up significantly as you won’t be surrounding it with smoke.)

Did you know that sugar causes the skin to become inflamed leading to breakouts? If you’re someone who has a high sugar consumption and suffer from acne, this could be the route cause. It might be hard giving up sugar, but you’ll find that your skin will be much better for it. Swap from snacking on processed snacks to fresh fruit, and within a week or two you’ll see a difference.

If you’re not drinking, at least, six to eight glasses of water each day, you need to start. While water isn’t directly linked to breakouts, it is related to healthy skin. The healthier your skin is, the less prone you’ll be to acne, which is why drinking enough water is important. Aim to drink up to eight glasses of water each day – if you’re not a fan of plain water, infuse it with fruit.

Change how you care for your skin

toner-906142_960_720Photo source

If you’re not taking the time to cleanse your skin each evening, this could be behind your breakouts. During the day, our skin gets covered in dirt and oil, which if not removed before bed, can lead to spots. Make sure that every night before going to bed, you remove your makeup and cleanse your face. It’s best to steer clear of facial wipes as these tend to move the dirt and oil around your face, instead of removing it.

Many of us make the mistake of not checking the ingredients in our beauty products before we use them. There are some ingredients – mostly chemical based ones that can damage your skin and make flare-ups worse. Make sure always to opt for natural products wherever possible, as these are less likely to upset your skin and cause breakouts.

There are some products that have been created especially for skin that’s prone to acne and breakouts. If you want to give your skin a better chance of fighting breakouts, it’s a good idea to give some of these products a try. One of the most popular acne clearing products at the moment is this 15% glycolic acid serum. As well as reducing acne and scars, this product also makes your skin softer and smoother.

There are also natural products you can try, such as witch hazel, aloe vera and tea tree oil-based cleansers and creams. Because of the antibacterial properties that these contain, they’re amazing for preventing breakouts. It can be a case of trial and error as what works for one person, may not work for another. So you may need to try a few different products out, to see which ones work best for you.

The cardinal sin of acne prone skin is caking your face in makeup. You might feel unconfident about how your skin looks, but smothering it in concealer and foundation is only going to make it worse. If you’re going to wear makeup, make sure it’s a natural brand that you’re using, and only apply a light amount.

Adult acne may feel like a cruel joke from the skin gods, but it’s actually incredibly common. Don’t let your skin get you down, be proactive and find ways to help prevent breakouts in the future.

Giving birth is an incredible thing, but it does take its toll on the mental and physical well-being of a mother. They can be left feeling ugly and having no self-confidence when they look in the mirror. The advice below is ideal for any new mothers that want to know how to feel beautiful after pregnancy.

Exercise Regularly

It’s no secret that women will put on some extra weight after pregnancy. This is totally natural and unavoidable. After all, most days were spent trying to relax and not being very active. Combine that with the fact that a pregnant woman has to eat for two people, and it’s no wonder some weight gets put on. While it’s hard to lose weight during pregnancy, there’s no excuse for not losing it after. The best solution is to exercise regularly. It doesn’t take long for someone to exercise every day. All that’s needed are fifteen to twenty spare minutes. By exercising on a daily basis, the baby weight will soon be gone.

Eat Healthily

In conjunction with exercising regularly, eating healthily is at the top of the list. Most pregnant women will not be on a healthy diet. This doesn’t mean they ate fast food every day for nine months, no, that’s not it. But, they probably ate quite a lot of junk food and snacks when they had pregnancy cravings. Again, this is normal and a natural part of pregnancy. But, if someone wants to feel beautiful after pregnancy, they have to eat healthily. Throw out all the snacks and stock the cupboards with good food. A healthy diet is a key to feeling better about the way you look.

Plastic Surgery Is An Option

Going through nine months of pregnancy can have it’s toll on the human body. A lot of women find that they don’t look the same as they did before it. Particularly if they’ve been through multiple pregnancies. The breasts are a body part that suffers the most. Women can get misshapen and ‘deflated’ breasts after pregnancy. This can be a real confidence booster and make one feel terrible about the way they look. So, it comes as no surprise that Belcara Health says many women get breast implants after pregnancy. Implants and breast augmentation can make a woman feel more comfortable in her body again. It restores things back to how they looked before the pregnancy.

Go For A Spa Day

After going through nine months of pain and stress, it’s easy for a woman to feel like she’s ugly. Obviously, this is not the case; it’s all in her head. Sometimes, a recovery day is needed. A day may not seem like much, especially after nine months of carrying a child. However, going for a spa day can work wonders. Someone that’s recently given birth will feel pampered and treated like a queen in a spa. It can make them feel relaxed, refreshed, and beautiful once more.

New mothers should give this advice a read if they want help getting back to normal after pregnancy. With just a few tips, they can feel beautiful and more confident.

How To Get That Beach Ready Body

You may be about to book a vacation in the sun, or even about to embark on one. It’s a great time of year to head to a sunny coast and top up your natural tan. There’s plenty to do to get your body ready for the beach. And there’s plenty of shopping to do for all your beach fashion essentials.

Start with your legs. These are often covered up in wintry environments. That means they’re prone to dryness and color fade. Exfoliate carefully to get rid of all those dead skin cells on top. It will also help improve the circulation around those dry areas to prevent it happening again. Next, apply a light moisturizer to replenish gently the skin at first. Once the skin is even again, you can get on with some hair removal.

Smooth and soft legs don’t come naturally, unfortunately. We poor girls have to work at it! When they’re in a fuzz free state, it’s time to use a good, heavy moisturizer. Choose something with a hint of tan to bring some glow back to your pins. Alternatively, a nourishing tanning lotion could be just the thing you need. Don’t forget your feet and toes if you like to walk barefoot in the sand.

1-DSCN1819Thanks to MaryRN for the pic

Fashion for legs on the beach is really simple. To wrap or not to wrap. If you’re a little self-conscious, or you’re going to pop into the bar, a wrap can provide you with enough coverage to feel comfortable. A light cotton material is often ideal, but they’re hard to keep looking ironed over the course of the day. You can find rip curl maxi skirts online that will make a statement and continue to look fresh all night long as well. Short throw-over dresses could be a great alternative.

Arms and underarms are more noticeable if the skin is in poor condition. Give yours an extra layer of rich moisturizer before starting your tan routine. Shoulders are prone to burn, especially if yours have been covered up for a while. Use a protective moisturizer here until you’re ready to face the sun. It should help prepare the skin for the UV blast. It’s always best to use a high SPF with extra filters if you can.

If you’re looking for more shapely arms, you could try curling with some light hand weights. Your choice of fashion will also help make the most of your natural shape. A higher neckline and wider shoulder straps, like on a tank top, will flatter shoulders and arms well. Strapless bikini tops can look gorgeous on slim girls while a halter neck all-in-one looks amazing for girls with curves.

Now all you need to remember is to drink plenty of water, use a good quality sunscreen, and where a beach hat. Getting ready for a beach holiday or vacation takes only a little time to get fabulous results. Feeling relaxed and confident in the sun while you’re away is essential for a good vacation. Get that beach body ready!

You Don’t Need Cosmetics To Keep Your Skin Healthy

We all dream of achieving the most beautiful skin, and to do this, often turn to cosmetics. However, to get the skin of our dreams, cosmetic products aren’t actually, needed. Yes, you read that right, beautiful skin is achievable naturally.

While beauty products like face creams can help to improve the health of your skin, going product-free can sometimes be a better option. You may find that swapping to taking care of your skin without the use of cosmetics a little strange at first. However, once you’ve adjusted, you’ll never want to go back.

Want to take care of your skin without the use of cosmetics – here’s what you need to know:

Detoxifying is a must

You may not realize it, but your skin reflects your overall health. If you don’t put the right nutrients into your body, you can’t expect your skin to be healthy. You may not realize it, but the toxins that are in our bodies can make our skin look and feel unhealthy, leading to breakouts.

If you want healthy, happy skin, detoxifying your body is a must. There are lots of ways that you can do this, but the most popular are fruit and vegetable detox programs. For some good detox programs, check out vegnews.com. You’ll find that if you detox your body, the results will show up on your skin. Instead of being red, dry and blemish-prone, it will be bright and healthy.

Make your own face washes

If you want skin that’s healthy, regular cleansing is a must. However, shop bought products, unless they’re 100 percent natural, are no good for your skin.

A great substance for cleansing your skin is clay – it not only washes but also pulls toxins from the skin. Pretty amazing, right? If clay isn’t for you, using mashed up avocado or other fruit can work wonders as a face mask. The enzymes in fresh fruit help to remove dead, dry skin, and can also clear pores and remove oil. For some more amazing home remedies for your skin, check out HomeRemedyshop.com. Here, you’ll find all sorts of fantastic natural remedies for various things, including healthy skin.

Hydrate your skin

For glowing skin, one of the most important things is drinking enough water. When your skin becomes dehydrated, it becomes dry, cracked and sore, which can lead to breakouts. That’s why drinking enough water each day is important.

Ideally, you should be aiming to drink at least eight pints of water each day. If you’re not a fan of water, this can be tricky, but you can make it a little easier by infusing fruit into it. To make water a bit more appealing, infuse fruit into it overnight. Instead of using still water, you could always opt for sparkling, to make drinking it a little more enjoyable.

We might live in a world where beauty products are king, but the truth is to keep our skin healthy we don’t need them. Natural remedies and a healthy diet can be all it takes to achieve healthy skin.

t’s no secret that we all dread the aging process – the idea of looking in the mirror and not recognizing ourselves is a scary thought. While the appearance of wrinkles is a normal part of aging, what many of us don’t realize is that how quickly our skin ages isn’t predetermined.

While 20 to 30 percent of the way your skin ages is down to genetics, the other 70 to 80 percent is down to how well you take care of it. So when it comes to how quickly your skin ages, there is a lot more that you can do to control it than you would think.

For everything that you need to know about keeping your skin looking young, keep reading. Here, you will find all my top tips for the most beautiful, youthful skin.

If you’re a sugar addict who loves eating chocolate, biscuits and cake, you need to change that. Did you know that when sugar is broken down inside the body it can affect the collagen and elastin found in the skin? These two substances are essential for keeping your skin looking young, as they prevent sagging and fine lines.

Drink ten glasses of water each day

Water is amazingly good for us, and yet, very few of us actually, drink enough of it. Stop buying fizzy drinks and cordials and instead, stick to drinking plain water. If you want healthy, young-looking skin, getting lots of water into your body each day is crucial.

If your skin dehydrates because you aren’t drinking enough, it’ll be more prone to the effects of aging. Ideally, you need to be drinking between eight and ten glasses of water each day, to keep your skin healthy. If you don’t get enough water, the signs of aging – wrinkles and crow’s feet, will be more visible.

Learn to manage stress

If you have a hectic schedule or a family to look after, the chances are that you are often stressed. While stress is a normal part of life, too much stress can speed up the aging process. If you spend most of your time feeling stressed out, you’ll notice that your skin ages much more quickly than someone who knows how to manage stress.

There are plenty of simple ways you can manage stress. From practicing yoga to deep breathing when things get too much, there are lots of ways you can stay in control. You’ll find that by learning to stay calm, no matter what’s happening, your skin will be healthier.

Invest in cosmetics and treatments

The most crucial thing you can do to keep your skin looking young is invest in skin care products and treatments. The things you use on your face and the treatments you have, are crucial when it comes to how quickly you age.

If you want a long-term solution to prevent aging, consider undergoing a cosmetic procedure. When it comes to getting rid of wrinkles and sagging skin for good, plastic surgery is often the best option. Treatments like Botox, a thread lift, and dermal fillers, are all popular when it comes to preventing aging. However, the treatment that you opt for is up to you.

For short-term wrinkle prevention, invest in anti-aging creams and serums. For best results, opt for products that contain collagen and elastin – the things your skin needs to prevent wrinkles and sagging.

So there you have it, all the best tips for achieving younger looking skin.

Simple Ways To Reinvent Your Look And Feel Fabulous

Sometimes change is a good thing. Overtime the things we thought made us look good actually make us look out of date and tired. This is obviously something we want to avoid at all costs. But if we have been dressing or wearing out hair the same way for decades, it can be very difficult to get out of the cycle. The style we donned in our youth provides us with some comfort, even if it does embarrass our children. It can be scary to put away our 80’s blue eyeshadow and clothes and go for more modern alternatives. But it can also give you a new lease of life and make you wish you had made the change sooner. Follow these simple ways to reinvent your look and send your confidence sky high.

Makeup

If you’ve been applying your make up the way for years, it might be time to mix it up abit. Head to your local department store and have a consultation with a makeup expert. They will be able to revamp your look and show you new techniques and styles to try. A good beauty expert will consider your skin tone and take your style into account. You can explain what kind of look you want to achieve and they can help your create it with suitable products and brushes. Don’t be afraid to go with their suggestion and try out new things too.

While you’re refreshing your makeup, also think about introducing a new skincare and beauty regime into your life. This could include weekly manicures, getting dental implants or heading to a spa to utilise their services each month. Whatever you feel will make you feel great, it’s worth doing.

Hair

As we age our hair loses it’s thickness and often it turns grey. It can be tempting to cut your hair short to make it look thicker or dye it to cover the greys. Sometimes the simplest change can make all of the difference. You could try parting your hair in a different position to add volume to your roots. If you want to make a bolder change, try out a new hair colour or style. Ask your hairdresser to help you choose a colour or a new cut that will suit you. It will be hard for people to not notice such a bold new look and you’ll have a permanent smile on your face.

Clothes

Reinventing your look will not be complete until you have dealt with your wardrobe. You need to declutter and get rid of anything that you don’t wear or like anymore. There’s no point keeping them if they are going unused. It can be difficult to part with items that hold a sentimental value to you, so why not store them elsewhere.  Your wardrobe needs to be functional and this process may reveal items you love that you had forgotten about. Now you have made this additional space, get a personal shopper to help you get more up to date. They may suggest things you hadn’t dreamed of trying that may look fabulous on you. Be open minded and honest about what you are looking for and you’re sure to be clothed to perfection in no time.

Reinventing your look can be an exciting and enjoyable process. If you feel good about the way you look, enjoy it. It’s a world of possibilities so try and find what look works for you.

How To Look And Feel Great Without Makeup

We all love doing our makeup. It’s time for us to make ourselves feel great and can give us some much needed confidence to start the day with. Some of us don’t feel comfortable unless we have a completely made up face, even if it’s just to go to the local store. However it’s important to love what’s underneath your eyelashes and foundation too. There are many things all of us can do to make us feel beautiful without our makeup masks on. Whether you’re going on vacation or just want to try a week without, here are some possibilities you can try.

Skincare

Finding effective skin care for women can be a tricky task. You need to know exactly what kind of skin type you are. Ask a skincare expert in a department store to help you if needed. Knowing this information will aid you in finding great products that suit your skin. Makeup is great at covering the problems with our skin but can also make the problem worse. This is one of the main reasons women tend to avoid going bare faced. You need to find a suitable cleanser to remove makeup and dirt from your face. You will also need a good moisturiser to keep your skin smooth and hydrated. Doing this each day will help improve your skin’s condition and you’ll be more inclined to go without your foundation.

Hair

Instead of using your makeup to boost your confidence, try using your hair instead. Dyeing your hair a new color or having a fresh trim will make you feel great. People will notice your hair instantly and won’t even notice you haven’t got any makeup on. Find yourself a fabulous stylist who can choose a style that is perfect for you is vital. If you don’t like how your hair looks it will make you look uncomfortable and unhappy. Find a style that suits you and keep it looking shiny and healthy.

You can also dye your eyelashes and eyebrows. This will make them look fuller and darker, meaning you won’t have to use any mascara. Vaseline is another great product for fuller looking lashes and for keeping your brows shape.

Looking after your insides

They say that beauty comes from within. To keep your skin, teeth, nails and hair looking wonderful you need to assess your lifestyle. Your outsides are greatly affected by what’s going on inside of you. It’s important to drink eight glasses of water a day to stay hydrated. Water will also flush out the toxins from your system. Eat plenty of colourful fruit and vegetables and exercise regularly. Your eyes and teeth will begin to look brighter and your skin will be in top condition. If your insides feel great your natural beauty will start to shine through. You’ll see a huge difference in no time.

The golden rule of looking and feeling great without makeup is confidence. Loving every part of yourself is what gives us that confidence. It may take time to develop, but we can all  benefit from it.

What Are The Benefits Of Natural Beauty Products?

Today, there are many natural health and beauty products on the market, and yet, many people choose to stick to chemical-filled ones. The main problem is that when it comes to natural cosmetics, the only thing that is noticed is the higher cost. Whereas, the health benefits that come with them are often ignored.

As well as the health benefits of swapping to natural products, there are also many other pros to take note of. To help encourage more people to use natural products, here is a guide to the incredible benefits of going green with cosmetics:

7281530984_32448e8516Link for picture

Smell more natural

When it comes to switching to natural beauty products, a major benefit is the effect on the nose. Most chemical-filled products are heavily scented. Often, this is to mask the chemical scent and can be a little overpowering.

The smells of chemical cosmetics can even cause headaches, as they are so strong. Whereas, natural products only smell like the ingredients in them, and so, don’t cause headaches of other problems.

Eco-friendly

Many conventional beauty products are harmful to the environment because of what’s in them. The more chemicals a product contains, the more damage it will do to the environment.

When cosmetics containing harmful chemicals are made, the fumes and waste material ends up in the air and water, polluting it. Even more of these chemical nasties go down the drain when the products are used, harming the environment once again. Whereas, when natural products are made, there is little damage done to the environment.

Less damage to skin

Cosmetics containing chemicals also cause damage to skin, as well as to the environment. From soreness to redness, products with synthetic ingredients can wreak havoc on skin. As well as causing short-term skin problems, chemicals in beauty products can also cause long-term damage.

However, by switching to natural products, skin soreness and irritation can be prevented. For instance, making the simple change from branded soap to natural goats milk soap, could improve skin health.

Better for health

Many chemicals found in cosmetics have can have all sorts of nasty side effects. This ranges from minor issues, like breakouts, to more serious conditions, like cancer. Studies have shown that various chemical used in beauty products have been linked to cancer, as well as other medical conditions.

Of course, these links refer to long-term use of these chemicals. So by swapping to natural alternatives, the risk of suffering from these conditions becomes much lower.

No parabens

Parabens are used in many conventional beauty products to extend the shelf life of them. However, these chemicals are known to alter the body’s hormones, causing all sorts of nasty side effects. Many of the effects of parabens are still being studied, as scientists are unsure of how serious they can be.

While natural cosmetics might be more expensive to buy, they are more than worth the cost. Conventional products filled with chemicals can have all sorts of nasty side effects. Whereas this isn’t the case with natural alternatives.
