But if you have thick, curly hair, it can be difficult to tame and fight frizz and keep your hair looking soft, smooth, and shiny. Thankfully, though, all hope isn’t lost. No matter what type of hair you’re sporting, you can fight frizz effectively if you know what techniques and tools to use. Continue reading for a few helpful hair care tips that will allow you to achieve the most beautiful, smoothest hair right at home.

Always Use Conditioner

Even if you purchase a shampoo/conditioner combination product, you should never skip on conditioning your hair every time you shampoo. This will help you deposit moisture into your hair so your cuticles will remain healthy and frizz-free. Just be sure to use a conditioner that contains natural ingredients that are hydrating. A good example is shea butter, which is a go-to moisturizing ingredient for women with dry hair.

Instead, warm the cream between your fingers and palms and then squeeze it onto the hair. Wrap curls around your fingers so that you can shape them just how you like them, and then allow your hair to air dry naturally.

Once your hair has dried quite a bit, you can then finish the job by using a diffuser on your blow dryer. Set it to high heat on low speed and make sure that you aim it downward so you can keep frizz at bay.

Start Using an Ionic Blow Dryer

An ionic blow dryer is a great product to use if you regularly have to deal with annoyingly frizzy hair. It will help reduce the frizz by working on compressing your cuticles. This will lock out moisture that would otherwise result in frizziness. So if your current blow dryer doesn’t seem to be doing the trick despite all of the products that you are using in your hair, it may be time for an upgrade.

Remember, too, that a lot of hot air can dehydrate your hair and cause frizz, particularly during the winter. If your hair is only slightly wavy or totally straight, allow it to dry naturally 90% before blow drying the rest. If it’s curly, you can even let it air dry 100%.

Brush Your Hair Often

Brushing your hair often can actually help combat frizz, especially if you hang your head upside down and use a bristle brush. This works by distributing the natural oils on your head from the scalp and the roots to the rest of the hair. In the end, your hair should be more hydrated, and this, in turn, will help with blocking out humidity and preventing frizz and flyaways. So while you can certainly apply moisturizing oil-based products to your hair to restore moisture, remember that your natural oils can also help you in your quest to prevent frizz and maintain the smoothest locks possible.

Now that you know a few of the easiest ways to maintain frizz-free hair throughout the year, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t love your hair every day of the week. I love makeup. I love the way it can transform your look. I like to be able to get creative with colours and techniques to create the style I want. But there are times when my skin isn’t quite perfect enough for an even coverage. I’ve been looking into some of the ways to ensure my skin is in great condition every day. Here are some of the ideas I’ve found to share with you:

Diet

I know you’re supposed to eat plenty of fruit and vegetables every day. But I didn’t know just how important some of them are to your skin. If you look at some of the ingredients in your favourite skin care products, you might find things like coconut, almonds and vitamin E in there. Of course, you can find these in your regular diet if you eat well. Nourishing from the inside sounds like a good plan to me.

Exercise

I’m not talking about running a marathon here. All you need to do is get your heart rate up a bit. This boosts your circulation that then feeds the skin cells with extra blood and oxygen. If you suffer from dry skin on your feet, regular walking can apparently help. If you work out enough, you’ll sweat. This releases all the toxins and dirt from your pores to give you a good cleanse. It beats steaming because the heat can be damaging to your skin.

Cleanse, Tone, Moisturize

Your everyday skin care routines may need to vary during your month. It will also need to change as you move through your twenties and into your thirties. For example, blemish treatments can be too harsh for older skin and cause it to burn. Use a gentle cleanser and toner twice a day. As we get older, it’s important to look after ourselves. You’ve got to take the time to make sure you stay fit and healthy. It’s essential to come up with decisions that will benefit your health and your bank balance. These are some of my suggestions to help you do that.

Keep Fit

So this is the biggie, and it’s one we all struggle to get motivated for, myself included. But, exercise is paramount to looking after yourself. You need to get the blood pumping around your body, and you need to trim some of that excess fat. The best way to do this is to implement a vigorous exercise regime. I like to go for options like swimming and running because they’re great for cardio, and they don’t take up the time and cost of gym visits.

Deal With Emergencies

One of the best ways to look after yourself is to deal with issues as soon as they arise. If something seems urgent, then it probably is. You need to get professional opinions as quickly as possible. If you have a medical condition that flares up, there’s a good bet you could need urgent care. I tend to come from the school of thought that it’s better to deal with a problem right away than ignore it and hope it goes away.

Eat Right

We all know that if we want to be healthy we’re going to need to eat properly. Healthy eating is vital for looking after yourself and staying strong and well. It’s imperative to try to maintain a balanced diet full of fruit and vegetables. As a mother of two I put a lot of emphasis on healthy eating because I want to set a good example for my kids. It’s essential they get into good habits that they can take with them later in life. But it also helps me and my husband to keep ourselves and bodies healthy and strong.

Because there are so many additions and supplements to help with health these days you could take vitamins. I make sure that I take vitamins on a daily basis. Regular intake of Vitamin C is great for your body, and it helps build up your immune system and can stop you getting sick. You can get small tablets to swallow, or there are soluble versions too. Stop Smoking

Everyone has at least one bad habit, but some bad habits are more unhealthy than others. Smoking is one habit that many people find difficult to kick.
